The Breeders took at least a decade to make a follow-up to Last Splash, the album cemented Kim Deal's status as a indie-rock bad@ss. Deal's bass playing and smokey yet sweet vocals sound great at least once a decade--their next album , Mountain Battles, wasn't nearly as good.

This trio of gals - Natalie, Naomi and Lauren - aka Agent Ribbons calls their band "the lost band of the great depression" and that's no joke. Pitchfork posted a few days ago about a horse named Radiohead that will be racing in today's Breeder's Cup Juvenile race . We'll I was out at the races and decided to find Radiohead (the horse) and throw a few dollars (2) on the long shot. I like my chances. Radiohead is a 15-1 underdog in the 5th race. Yeah Yeah Yeahs have announced plans to play Minehead, Englands' All Tomorrow's Parties fest next month. Karen O ' and co. will be playing their debut album, ' Fever To Tell ', in it's entirety when they play the three-day fest. A couple of weeks ago I was cooking dinner, as I do most nights. We were having some sort of chicken dish and the recipe called for 250g (~1/2 lb) of chicken breast. I wandered over to the refrigerator, pulled out the twin pack of chicken breasts that Dr. O'C had picked up at the grocery store and my jaw dropped.
