DON'T MISS ARMY NAVY AT THIS YEAR'S CMJ MUSIC MARATHON! LA's Army Navy released their self-titled debut album on their own label, The Fever Zone, in late 2008, an album that NPR described as "a Posies-and Teenage Fanclub-style tsunami of melody and distortion that underscores the youthful essence of power-pop in all its bittersweet glory" and Pitchfork declared a "bubbly effervescent valentine." After an appearance on last year's famed "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" soundtrack and a 73 release on Fierce Panda's Fandango Records in the UK, the band is currently taking some time writing and recording material [...]

For that reason, I was slow to pick up the Clues debut. However, once I finally did, I've hardly put it down. Having expected quirky Unicorns-esque lyrics over [...]

As promised, I'm trying to do a few more of these Odds and Ends posts so as to avoid relying on Twitter for all of my "one hit" pieces of news. I know some of you still aren't big users of Twitter, and far be it from me to deny you the pleasures of knowing every last thought that goes through my head. I suppose the biggest piece of news is that the new Wilco album, Wilco (The Album) , has leaked. And, as a result, the band quickly made it [...]
