Photo This week is eargasmic, to say the least. I've been receiving a lot of mp3s and I promise you, the ones in this post are surefire ways to pump your week. New stuff from Goldfrapp's album Head First, Joanna Newsom's 81, Hot Chip graces this blog once again with I Feel Better, Dangerous Muse, Lemonade and a recent discovery for me, Wakey Wakey, is something to check out too. Dave Wrangler also does a The xx of Stars. Broken Bells (which is The Shins plus Gnarls Barkley) is in with their [...]

So yeah yeah the weekend is here and it is gonna be a hell of a time! So much crazy stuff going on this week. Fake Justice is out a supposed new track by Daft Punk...the electro world is a bit on tilt from all the hype. Also found out that I might be helping throw the infamous Anthem Coachella party again. I am super psyched about this as I have helped out in the past and it is always insanity in the sun! Get ready for that. This weeks playlist is full of a lot of great stuff and [...]
The Dave Matthews Band has a history of mapping out rather extensive Summer tours featuring a rather exhaustive amount of opening acts. So, it come as little surprise that Mr. Matthews & Co. recently unveiled 2010 Summer itinerary includes five months worth of tour dates and 12 different openers. The band's travels, which come in support of the recently released Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King , will begin on May 28th in Hartford, CT. Highlights that follow include a two-night stint at New York's Citi Field and three [...]
Some eighties bands music stands the test of time, while others cause us to look over our shoulder to see if anyone's noticed the Heaven 17 album in our collection. The English Beat wrote songs with a reggae groove, but with enough pop sensibility to capture the hearts of millions. At a time when it was virtually impossible for alternative bands to get radio airplay in America, The Beat had a string of hits and sold-out tours. Dave Wakeling was the singer, guitarist and mastermind behind the whole thing and when he announced a 2010 U.S. tour [...]

Bad news for anyone who thought a new GC record would manifest in physical form some time soon--they've announced on their official blog that they're in Vancouver starting over. In a blog post that is tl'dr , Benji talks about his and Billy Martin's gut feelings about what they had created, and how they felt they needed to work with someone who understood the heart and soul of their band. Thus, they're back to working with Don Gilmore, who helped them create their self-titled and Good Morning Revival. [...]

Saturday night at The Roxy on Sunset, Buzznet and DCMA Collective got their party on and some famous faces were there to help! Mikey F*ckin Way, ladies and gentlemen. I admired his chiseled cheekbones from 3 booths away. Brandon Sallers from Atreyu played a gritty acoustic set, including one of his band's songs AND since he was accompanied by Billy Martin of Good Charlotte, they also played "The River." [...]
In the foggy mists of lat November we held our final L'Amour Electronique of 2009. We had something of an enforced guest DJ situation (long story), but it all worked as well as it could've, with their electronic burblings mixing not-too-jarringly with our French bubblegum and poppier synth sounds. Verity New Order – Elegia Glass Candy – Life After Sundown Zouzou – Tu Fais Partie De Passé Etienne Daho – Rendez-vous á Vedra Michel Polnareff – La Mouche Add N to (X) – Poke 'Er 'Ole Pram – Omnichord [...]

Photography by Tsuru TSURUFOTO on Etsy ! Vote for me (via lots of stars) here Baby & I took the day off to enjoy a wonderful 4 day "stay-cation" at home as we also have Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard Day off as well. I actually was able to, not only sleep soundly last night, but sleep IN, all the way to 8am (a rarity for me). Great way to start off a mini-vacay, eh? Well, being as that we are not in our [...]

And so we have reached a new decade, and if the first slate of new releases is any indication, it's going to be a damn good next 10 years. Quarter #1 of the music industry's 2010 includes releases from longtime indie staples and acclaimed newcomers, alt-folk male-female duos and weird ass virtual English projects, bands both finally releasing long overdue followups and much hyped debuts. The forthcoming batch of new music is overwhelming to say the least. Fortunately, as always, we got you covered. Below, you'll find an extensive and up-to-date listing of all this coming quarter's new [...]

#1 Arctic Monkeys - Humbug This incredibly well-written and musically perfect album is a total success! The fantastic four have managed to become the most exciting rock band around in less than four years, thanks to deep, dark, nervous and exciting tracks. Favourite tracks : My Propeller, Cornerstone, Crying Lightning #2 Dragonette - [...]
The most memorable event of the past decade is the day the Donnybrook Writing Academy opened its doors and began providing taste, culture and direction to a world wallowing in mediocrity. As the decade comes to an end, we feel obligated to enlighten the masses once again. We at the manor have put together the definitive best of the decade film list. Through science, trigonometry, and a little black magic, we have calculated the ten best films of the decade and have employed the brightest minds on the planet to share our findings. Scott Stapp Matt Bowman [...]
