SIDEWAYS REIGN NOW ON TOUR IN SUPPORT OF 'A STAND FOR ALL AGES' Sideways Reign, based out of Union, Washington, is a band representative of the artistic sensibilities of the masses. They're your local barkeep, the hard-hat wearing construction worker, or the ice cream maker on the corner; on and off stage they remain the approachable, everyday guys you grab a beer with after work. In the same sense, A Stand For All Stages, the band's debut LP, offers something for the broadest of audiences with a genre defying blend of rock, blues, folk, and reggae wrapped in [...]

Words: Emmy Droege The first time I listened to 'Fly Away Another Day', I was brushing my teeth and getting ready for bed. The captivating melody and beats instantly drew me in. I was hooked, and so nighttime obligations sat on the backburner while I stood frozen, a little less sleepy than before. Something about this tune woke me up, not enough to forget about sleep, but enough to send a shockwave through my body and briefly re-energize my brain. It definitely has the potential to be the background music for an uppity car commercial [...]

Citizen Cope announces the new nationwide tour along with new album.

A native of Maryland and a Brooklyn transplant, Jaeggi weathers the NYC singer-songwriter scene, armed with a well-worn voice and themes that range from melancholy narratives to carefully constructed observations about city life. Drawing from influences like Cat Power , Citizen Cope and Ray LaMontagne the 24-year-old has created an original sound that has piqued the interest old NYC music-goers, building a strong underground following at notorious venues such as The Bitter End, Lit Lounge and Rockwood Music Hall. Oh Lady You Shot Me [...]
Blurring the boundaries has always been easy for Clarence Greenwood, AKA Citizen Cope . Over the course of three albums (on as many record labels), the Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter has always gone off the mainstream road to find his own musical path: acoustic blues shuffles, stinging rock riffs, singer/songwriter intimacy and gritty urban rhythms combined into a streetwise alloy of "urban folk". "The only way to explain my music," says Greenwood, "is to say you gotta listen to it." And many have. Sales for Cope have topped 400k in the U.S. alone and he remains a strong concert draw, here [...]

Citizen Cope - Healing Hands Brand spankin' new track from one of my favorites. If you've heard Citizen Cope, you'll notice that this track is your typical Citizen Cope sound. I believe he's got a new album coming out this coming Feburary.

02 Healing Hands Time to switch it up a little bit and post someone that a lot of people (especially girls) liked while I was in college. If you haven't heard Citizen Cope before then I feel bad for you because he is a rock musician whose music I almost always end up liking after several [...]

Hell yeah, new Citizen Cope ! I'm a big fan, but I didn't even know his upcoming release The Rainwater LP , was so close. It's set to come out in February, and this is the first I've heard from it. If you don't already know Citizen Cope, you need to. It's sad that many people probably only know him from that "Son's Gonna Rise" song on the car commercial. (Still, a great song.) Citizen Cope combines elements of rock, hip-hop, folk, pop, reggae - shit, almost everything that doesn't involve raves and glowsticks or lassos [...]
