Nothing. I have nothing to say. At all. Hence the lack of blog-tivity lately. But I did take a really nice, relaxing late Autumn walk last night and had three marvelous songs pop up via the shuffle mode. And since this space was going unused, i figured I'd fill it with those songs. * Mike Doughty - 'Pleasure On Credit' MP3 * My Morning Jacket - 'Phone Went West' MP3 * Cloud [...]

The problem with a list like this is the "shoulds". You know, the albums you feel like everyone else will pick, so you "should," too? Well, this time I decided not to deal with those. My list is based on the number of times I listened to these albums since they came out, whether I love them so much I already know every word to every song, how much it moved me, etc. This is a personal list. It isn't intended to be complete or controversial. That said, I know I'll get crap for [...]
Whenever a re master comes out I think about all the time that has passed since first hearing the record. My boss at an outdoor science school burnt " Aurora Borealis " for me in 2004 when it first came out. He's a pretty sweet dude into some pretty crazy stuff. I figured it was going to be reggae since everything else he listened to was. I had no idea who Cloud Cult was except for what my boss told me. Something about an organic farm and all the profits from the project going to various earth [...]
Lifter Puller & Cloud Cult announce reissues, Mayda to release new EP & Felt drop first track from "Felt 3."
As I mentioned previously , Prof. Klein is a bit of a stickler about getting these Numerology pieces right beyond a shadow of a doubt. Instead of chalking early attempts up to the blogging learning curve like the rest of us, he stays awake at night, shaking with regret that low hanging fruit like the number 8 was not given its proper due. So today, as we all hold our breaths waiting to know if we'll ever know how bad the U2-scored Spiderman musical can possibly suck, Dave gives the mark of the arachnids its due, and continues to rewrite [...]

(photo) Just because the hype of Halloween simmered down doesn't mean TBT* does the same. And to prove that I'm back with 36 tracks to keep you preoccupied and your ears buzzing for some mo'! Enjoy the playlist. *GOT THE LINKS FIXED! :: The Big Pink - Crystal Visions :: Groove Armada - I Won't Kneel (Bloody Beetroots Remix) [...]

Cloud Cult will release a remastered double-disc next month featuring "They Live on the Sun" and "Aurora Borealis."

"HAPPY F*IN' HALLOWEEN, JUGGALOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS!!!!!" This low, bellowing voice was the greeting of a big bald dude in the middle of a wrestling ring with "Hallowicked" painted on the side of it. The packed hive of demented clown people cheered back. If my 5 hour perspective on Detroit is accurate (and I'm hoping it's not), the population of Detroit is distributed roughly: 0.5 parts hipster; 3 parts panhandler; and 1209812091724019842 parts Juggalo. I've never played a show with a paper thin wall separating me from an Insane Clown Posse after party on Halloween (complete with wrestling ring [...]
If one were to search for either of the two Cloud Cult albums They Live on the Sun or Aurora Borealis , they'd probably only find them at live gigs and select Independent record stores. After all, the two records have been out of print for some time now. However, on December 8th, that will change. On that day, the band will release a double-disc reissue of the two albums, complete unreleased bonus tracks, for everyone (as in nationwide release "everyone") to enjoy. If you're looking for a quick history lesson, [...]

*MP3: Cloud Cult - "Fairy Tale" *MP3: Cloud Cult - "Take Your Medicine" Cloud Cult are reissuing my two favorite Cloud Cult releases, "They Live on the Sun" and "Aurora Borealis," next Tuesday in a special double-disc edition. Both albums will be remixed, remastered and include special bonus tracks. I highly recommend picking this up. Check it out here . (Ian Anderson)

Two of Cloud Cult's early albums, 2003's They Live on the Sun and 2004's Aurora Borealis , will be reissued together as a double-disc very soon. The band will be taking pre-orders on their website starting in late November. The band have garnered a lot of praise since the initial release of these two albums. This will actually be the first time either of these albums is available nationwide. That's all we really know about the release right now, but more information is sure to leak!
Brace yourselves for deluxe editions of They Live... & Aurora Borealis. They'll both see daylight on 12/8! Visit Cloud Cult at their official site. MP3: Cloud Cult - Fairy Tale
Experimental Minnesotans Cloud Cult have been around for well over a decade and whilst which of their records is their all time 'greatest' is up for much debate, we at least know which albums the band themselves favour as not one, but two reissues are due for a dual release.

By way of Washington state comes Brooklyn's Brad Oberhofer , a noise pop dynamo with hooks built to give fans of Cloud Cult and Say Hi alike real pause. Such calculated cacophony so often strays into the recherché, but Oberhofer keeps things elastic and dangerous, earning his xylophone strikes with howls of desperation and exasperation. Spin the galloping "Away From You", below. Oberhofer "Away From You"
We got all spooky and Halloweeny on everyone, mixing in a bit of a creepfest (read: a Liars song) with the usual, expected tunes from Knox Road Radio. Lots of inside jokes (I wasn't privy either don't worry,) lots of Sporcle, and lots of affection from Jon for Los Campesinos!. Check out the full show (starts 25 seconds in) and playlist below. Knox Road Radio 10.25.09 [MP3] (available until next Sunday's show) 01| DJ Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince – "Nightmare on My Street" 02| Los Campesinos! – "The Sea Is A [...]

Seattle I just got the most frighteningly insane news about this tour: When we play Detroit—ON HALLOWEEN—we're playing in a venue that immediately after us is having an INSANE CLOWN POSSE AFTERPARTY. It'll be Halloween and the ICP Juggalos (how do you spell that damn word? Is it even a word?) will be out in droves mixing with the PCP and Thao fans (as if the audiences at these shows haven't been diverse enough…and Detroit is rugged enough of a town.) More news on that as it comes in. Thao [...]
I started putting this list together back in August, shared it with NF, put it aside for awhile, and finally put the finishing touches on it today...I think. Albums that came out this year are tough to consider because they've haven't quite set in yet. Then again, I'm listening to so much more music now than I did 9 years ago, it's hard to say how much I will come back to albums released this year. Here are my favorites: 50. Ryan Adams - Gold (2001) 49. Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes [...]
