This release is far more country rock than the jazzier pop of Tim's House , yet it still retains the beautifully constructed vulnerability of both her previous works. So the new Relix magazine just turned me on to BLAKROC - a new album coming out featuring the Black Keys w/ guest spots by the RZA, Q-Tip, Mos Def ,Jim Jones among others. The whole thing came about when Damon Dash reached out to the Keys to have one of his artists (Jim Jones) collaborate with them on an album. Unlike most of the now mostly moribund labels of the indie-rap boom, they've managed to keep quality control high, output steady, and craft a sensible and generous promotional policy for the digital age.
