When legendary axeman Dickey Betts got arrested for punching out some cops before a 1993 H.O.R.D.E. show in Stowe, VT, the Allman Brothers Band asked ARU guitarist Jimmy Herring to sit in with them and he stepped up. After the Allmans fired Dickey Betts by fax in 2000 they asked Jimmy Herring to join them for a tour and he stepped up.
