As one of Paper + Plastick's flagship signings, Richmond VA's Landmines have been busy building a name for themselves having released their debut self-titled album last year in addition to sharing the stage with bands like Dirty Tactics, Less Than Jake, The ERGS! and Bomb the Music Industry. As part of Punknews' interview series on this year's Fest, Sean Jain exchanged emails with guitarist Nick Bergheimer, to talk about Landmines' forthcoming EP Hell Is What You Make It , which comes out tomorrow, as well as their upcoming European tour and their appearance at The Fest 8.

Black Wine , the new band featuring former The Ergs! guitarist Jeff Schroek along with Miranda Taylor and J Nixon of Hunchback , have posted two new songs. Used Kids have offered up their new full length Yeah No available for download via If You Make It . The download is free but the band is asking fans to throw them a donation if they enjoy the music. The album will be availilable in meatspace in a few days also, with Salinas Records putting out the LP. Used Kids are the Brooklyn-based successor to the Milwaukee's Modern Machines . The band features members of Cheeky and the Ergs .

Don Giovanni Records has announced the signing of Black Wine . The band features former The Ergs! guitarist Jeff Schroek, along with Miranda Taylor and J Nixon of Hunchback . The label explained the band's sound as "a mix of alternative and punk reminiscent of the early days of SST and Sub Pop" and added that the trio will be hitting the studio in the fall to record their debut, with a release expected by year's end. Houseboat , which features Grath and Ace from The Steinways , Mikey from The Ergs!] and Zack from [[Off With Their Heads/Dead Landlord, have wrapped up work on their first full length.
