Eles citam como influências Neutral Milk Hotel, Tom Waits, Einsturzende Neubauten, The Velvet Underground, Eric Satie, e
Here's something you probably never thought you would read: Bill Cosby has made a hip-hop album. Here's something else you probably never thought you would read: Appearing on said hip-hop album will be the likes of Eric Clapton, Alicia Keys, LL Cool J, William Patterson, and the late Miles Davis. Yes, this is indeed what will be happening when the legendary comedian drops Bill Cosby Presents the Cosnarati: State of Emergency , a 14-track effort designed to bring awareness and social consciousness to troubling issues in hip-hop culture. But don't worry, [...]

health - "die slow (tobacco remix)" (download) I have been LOVING this song lately. Tobacco (of Black Moth Super Rainbow ) can really do no wrong when he's doing remixes. (Check the aweome Restiform Bodies remix he did here ). Here, he remixes HEALTH 's " Die Slow " from their awesome new record Get Color . These guys put on a really intense live show, and they're on tour right now (with awesome opener Pictureplane ), so go see them [...]

TAPS in Petaluma opened this weekend and we stopped in to check things out. Technically in "soft opening" phase, the place is looking terrific. Between TAPS , the Lagunitas TapRoom & Beer Sanctuary , and Dempsey's Brewpub , Petaluma's become quite the destination for beer geeks. I couldn't be happier. Eric Lafanchi (pictured) and his brother have culled a tasty tap and bottle selection for both Geeks and regular Peeps alike, thanks to some expert input by Mario the Brewsario behind Brewed For [...]
First of all, I have never seen a cover of "Anthrax" by Gang Of Four , ever. Second of all, I am glad this is my first. Pretty Awesome.
"This is it... but I'm not gonna break down in tears just yet." - Trent Reznor on stage NIN @ the Wiltern - Sep 10, 2009 ( bloodandheadlines ) Last night (September 10th) was the rescheduled final stop on NIN 's "last" ("Wave Goodbye") tour . The show was at the Wiltern in L.A. and ran over three hours and featured many of the same guests that appeared at the previous LA show which took place at [...]

HEALTH and Pictureplane make for logical tour partners. They're Lovepump labelmates, and bands to watch , and they both find creative ways to fuck with their love for making people dance. (Or at least, move.) They kicked off a month of shows together at the Troubadour in Los Angeles the other night, with Dam Funk and Mi Ami as the early openers. Pro tip: This will be a good tour to see. HEALTH always rule live, but after their time opening up Nine Inch Nails' Wave Goodbye, they might have learned a new trick or [...]

There are few bands that have affected me quite as personally as NIN has over the years. I can't count the times I've spent drowning myself in the music, using it as a personal catharsis for my own demons. Standing in front of the stage at the Henry Fonda Theatre last night, in what might very well have been the second to last NIN show ever, I couldn't help but feel sad that a huge part of my life was passing on. HEALTH replaced Mew at the rescheduled show. (Trent Reznor sick the week before.) [...]

HEALTH NIN Gary Numan jam insanity @ Henry Fonda (by reneebarton) ** The Wiltern show scheduled for Saturday Sept 5th is now happening on Thursday Sept 10th - this is now the final show ** Hello all- Sorry about the hassles with the show not happening last night and tomorrow's rescheduling. If it would have been possible to pull these off, I would have. Anyway, here's the new plan. I appreciate your patience and understanding - we're attempting to make sure that everyone has the best experience [...]

By day 3 of Lollapalooza we'd already experienced mud, cold winds, rain, major sunlight, hours of dancing, and multiple hangovers. However, none of that prepared us for the Sunday, the final day of the festival. After breakfast we headed straight over to Grant Park to secure a barricade spot for Friendly Fires' 12:30PM set, which at the time reached a scorching and brutal upper 90-100 degrees of dry heat... Friendly Fires Budweiser Stage Sunday 12:30PM >> Before Friendly Fires' set, security and paramedics made sure to announce that [...]

How I almost didn't get to photograph the ONE band I really wanted to see at Lollapalooza. I've seen Jane's Addiction in many incarnations, from the original line-up in a gym and then their farewell appearance at my first Lollapalooza in 1991. I saw that first reunion go-round with Flea on bass and realized something very basic was missing. I mean, it was still sorta Jane's, but not 100%. The reunions always seemed to be more laid-back than my memories of the band I saw in [...]
Photo Credit: Richard Giraldi Considering Jane's Addiction are from Los Angeles, their closing set at Chicago's Lollapalooza 2009 was hardly a homecoming. Still, the band was in pure celebration mode with good reason. Not only has lead singer Perry Ferrell successfully created an extremely popular metropolitan summer music destination – this year marked the second straight complete sell out in a row – but the original Jane's lineup is back including powerhouse bassist Eric Avery. On Sunday, August 9, Jane's Addiction stormed [...]

Sunday's are designed for one thing: being lazy. For the greater Chicago population, this past Sunday was anything but that. Instead, it was all about sweating off those Lobster Corn Dogs, wearing down those already worn out Chucks, and irritating those well-established sunburns from Saturday's "fun in the sun." But that summarizes every closing day at Lollapalooza - it's what gives each festivalgoer that merit badge by sundown. And if we've learned anything from Cub (or Girl) Scouts, those badges don't come easy. Grant Park didn't make it any easier, either. As the hours skated by, and the [...]
My third and final NIN|JA experience happened at Jones Beach, which is perhaps my favorite venue in all the land, with the smell of the ocean, intense wind, the moon hanging low and full in the sky, and the water trickling calmly at the side of the stage. It was heavenly, and this particular show may have been my favorite of the three I've attended on sheer atmosphere and proximity alone. We began early, tailgating in the parking lot in the afternoon, grilling up a series of treats and spending time with friends new and old. [...]

1991. Not only was the last time Jane's Addiction and Nine Inch Nails shared the stage, but it was also the last time all four original (or most popular) members of JA toured together. This year marked the inaugural Lollapalooza tour, which was Jane's frontman Perry Farrell's design to send off his band in style. Fast-forward 18 years later… the ever-changing lineup finally returns in original form to front the NIN|JA tour not only to commemorate the band's return, but this time to send Nine Inch Nails off in style. Opening for both bands is Tom Morello (Rage Against the [...]
This show killed it!! Unfortunately we got caught in LA traffic and missed Tom Morello's Street Sweeper Social Club. Thankfully we were able to roll in just in time to catch Nine Inch Nails entire set. I didn't have the greatest seats for this set but I was still rocking out. I feel if i would have had a better seat I would have enjoyed this show a lot more. The people sitting above the orchestra section all the way to the lawn just wouldn't shut up!! No matter where [...]

[Jane's Addiction's Eric Avery blows out birthday candles on Saturday; cheers to him as we rock into the weekend ...] Tonight: Seems to be lighter than your average Friday, but in addition to the I Am Treasure benefit at the Roxy (featuring Pigeon John and Rootbeer ), you have some other options. She Wants Revenge , paired with War Tapes , plays downtown's Club 740 . ... Rocket shows off its new lineup and new songs at the Spaceland. ... Old-schoolers can catch Queensryche [...]

Bitter feuding mars Jane's Addiction reunion INDIO, California (Reuters) – War has broken out among the original members of Jane's Addiction, who are gearing up for their first tour in almost 18 years. Singer Perry Farrell told Reuters that a mediation attempt by Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor, with whom Jane's Addiction will tour next month, was unsuccessful. But despite the temper tantrums, Farrell is determined to keep Jane's Addiction together. He, guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Steven Perkins have toured on and off over the years. Bassist Eric [...]
File this one in the "that didn't take long" folder. Arguments have erupted between the members of Jane's Addiction just a few months after they announced a comeback tour with Nine Inch Nails. Perry Farrell talked to Reuters about the rocky reunion at the Coachella festival this weekend, where he performed a solo set. "I'm not going to tell you it's been all smooches and hugs," he said. "But it shouldn't be because that would be a bore. If my band didn't have issues, if they didn't throw tantrums, I would think I was with a bunch [...]
