As some of you probably know by now, we're sad to announce that Emily Logan has left The Bay Bridged and is leaving the Bay Area for literally greener pastures, as she'll be traveling across the country, working at organic farms along the way. You can find out more about her trip at her personal blog, Rose Noise . In the fourteen months Emily was with The Bay Bridged, she worked tirelessly to ensure that our blog was always full of interesting content, and she leaves an impressive collection of interviews with some great bands. Once again, my life becomes less hectic at a time when an interesting theme comes by. Songs that have the same name - now this is interesting for me, and took me about five hours to go through my whole playlist and find some suitable candidates. First, get rid of all the covers (and boy howdy, did I ever have a lot of covers - including a ton that I didn't even know were covers). Next, I had to go through what I did have and I made the concious decision to excise any similar sounding songs, which [...]

From remixing Rod Stewart, DJ Shadow and Radiohead to performing a kitchen-sink set with typewriters and wine glasses under the moniker Stripmall Architecture, San Francisco's Halou is a productive factory of musical ideas. Launched in 1995 by Ryan and Rebecca Coseboom and featuring engineer Count and others, Halou is currently hawking two 2008 efforts, its digital-only self-titled fourth full-length and an EP called Sawtooth . Halou has had help from, and helped out, some bigshots along the way. Ryan and Count have aided the production of bands as different as Blackalicious, Keane and No Doubt, while [...]
I haven't posted anything in a while. The reasons aren't great but are many. I haven't had time. When I've had time I haven't thought about it. When I've had time and I've thought about it, I've been sorta sick. I haven't seen a lot of shows lately, so I haven't made any recordings. I'll get over it sooner or later and I'll be back out there and I won't bail on shows anymore or whatever. Until then, here's a selection of the best stuff of 2008 [...]

Halou - It Will All Make Sense In The Morning
I'll keep this briefly posted at the top of the page because I don't want to interfere with SumKid's video contest . Anyway, here's the second mix I created. Again, some new tracks, some old. A tad bit more folksy this time around, and I included a few artists that can be found on t61. 1. [...]
OK, so, the other week I was in a bit of a "I need new music" kick, so I hit up MySpace to see what I could find. And I came back with some interesting finds, that I would like to share with you, as well as a couple that I was already aware of, and plugging for a friend of mine. Hayley Jane A year or so ago, I was listening to a podcast called The Magic Milkshake Machine and it introduced me to a few new musical artists, [...]
