Courtney Kaiser and Benjamin Cartel met after being placed on the same bill at the Knitting Factory, and out of this serendipitous meeting came KaiserCartel. The Brooklyn-based duo will perform at the Happy Ending Music and Reading Series, where they will not only play their own folk-inspired indie rock, but will also have to comply with the Series' one rule for musicians: to play one cover song
CMJ was last week and since I was up in New York anyway I took in a little of what the famously chaotic week had to offer.
