I spend closing night at CMJ in the cozy confines of Union Hall's basement. For tomorrow's day party, it's time to move on into Brooklyn. NYC Taper is throwing a wonderful showcase at Bruar Falls. I like this group of bands a lot because none of them are really very flashy or buzzy or play Todd P venues or are necessarily very hip, that sort of thing. But they're all really, really solid bands and worthy of hype. A very well put-together show, if you ask me.
