You may remember that a while ago I blogged about Mustard Pimp compiling an astonishing 12 hour mix - well the sneaky French duo have now topped that with an epic 24 hour compilation mix made up of nearly every genre going! It's all in the honour of the new series of 24 which is about to start on Sky. I really didn't follow the last series, I tried but it's hard work. Seriously, how many times does Jack need to save the world? Jean Claude Van Damme wouldn't have had these issues, he'd simply kick [...]

Our crazy friends from France have done it again. This time they outdone anything we could ever think of. Mustard Pimp goes in the footstep of the popular tv-show 24 and produces a 24 h mixtape. It is crazy, but in a good way. The best thing is that you can enjoy them in the same way that you enjoy 24, hour for hour. Download the 24 episodes here (mediafire folder) Look at the 800+ tracklist after the jump. Hour 1 1)Mustard [...]

When I attended the Southside festival I went with a couple of really good friends, and I thought it would be nice to show you a more personal account of what happened that fantastic weekend. KG wrote this for me. When you are shaken awake on a Friday morning at 7:45 am, after having gone to bed at 3 am the night before, you begin to curse whatever made you stay up so late. Four hours and fifteen minutes of sleep are just not enough. This was the beginning of this year's [...]
The unique value of the setting became clear as the sun descended behind the hills. The sky turned a gentle pink, and Alela Diane 's crystalline voice and plucks on her guitar wafted across a mellow crowd. The previous day of heat and sweat was now within a lullaby, shifting slowly into dusk. The 2009 Pickathon Festival was suddenly in a category all its own, offering something uniquely tranquil in the face of chaotic contemporaries. Stranger Dance was fortunate enough to cover the Pickathon Festival in its eleventh year of existence; photos and review after [...]

Hello all, first let me say I am sorry for the mad influx of post and mixes. These sets are some older ones that some of you might have missed the first time around. I remastered all of these and really just tweaked a few things here and there as I didn't want to ruin the original vibe of these mixes. They range from Tech, Electro, Tribal, Progressive and some Trance. I hope that you enjoy them and much Love and Respect to you all. Fractile Twist 320 DDL [...]

The Loyal Divide As a band begins to carve out a sound, play local shows, and release material, the priority is to gain exposure. It seems that the current trend is to allow buzz to take precedent over sales in hopes the sales will follow. In theory it is a sound plan even if the sales come from the next album or the album after that. The fact is that with a market is not only flooded, but dominated by a select few major labels it is increasingly difficult to sell cds. Why not allow fans [...]

London Heathrow Terminal 5 opens to mass protest, and large scale operational problems. The best albums and gigs of March 2008 1. Frank Turner-Love, Ire & Song These days, it's not often that an album grabs you from the first chord and you just and listen through every track, without doing anything else. Frank's perfect blend of folk/rock with his punk heart from his Million Dead days, combined with perfect tales of loneliness and epic social commentaries makes for [...]
Checked through Sick Room's audio page chock full of goodies from the 50+ albums in their back catalogue which spans across math/noise/indie rock and pop. This Chicago label who's released Sleepytime Gorilla Museum & Cheval de Frise and Hella in the past surely deserves more love for their future projects. Howard Hello - Lazy Chevreuil - Cannibal Lover Three Second Kiss - This Building is Loud Form Of Rocket - Keep Smiling Ed Smart Mass [...]

Dan Michaelson, Absentee We were all worshipping the sun like some Polyphonic Spree cult on Saturday morning but still found time to visit the "Countryman's Store" in Blandford to score some gentleman's wellingtons. Even with the glistening mud, the site looked splendid in the sunshine, the peacocks cavorting, making it perfect to start the day in front of the main stage for Absentee . Dan Michaelson's looking quite the roué, which is a look [...]
