The XX have officially become a trio since the departure of their keyboardist/guitarist, Baria Qureshi (pictured second from the left). The band cancelled a number of gigs recently due to Baria's illness and exhaustion. Baria has now decided to leave the band for good and there are no current plans to replace her. Oliver Sims says "It's just been a case of, I suppose growing apart. It's a big jump from 13-years-old to 20. Other Voices returns in December, and will return to our TV screens next year for season 8. Snow Patrol, Richard Hawley, The XX and Temper Trap are some of the acts already announced, but there are sure to be a lot more fantastic artists announced nearer the dates. Snow Patrol and Richard Hawley among acts for RTE's Other Voices – tickets out soon
The eighth series of RTE Two's Other Voices live music show is being recorded next month, with Snow Patrol , Richard Hawley , The xx and The Temper Trap among those pulling up a pew for intimate shows in St James's Church in Dingle. The full line-ups have yet to be announced, but it promises to be another rock'n'roll communion at the chapel, with shows running from Saturday, 5 December to Wednesday, 9 December inclusive.
