Toronto - Starting on Wednesday, local concert series Wavelength 's will be celebrating their 10th year in existence (and 500th show) with a bang. There will be five shows spanning five nights featuring a ton of good local indie talents. In the past decade, this concert series has played host to a ton of local bands, including BSS, Constantines and probably 90% of the roster on CBC Radio 3. It's a concert series I've only recently gotten into, and kinda think that I should have gone more in the past. This series of shows will also mark the end [...]

Bad Lieutenant , the project formed in 2007 by New Order 's Bernard Sumner (guitar, vocals) and Phil Cunningham (guitar), along with Jake Evans (guitar, vocals), is thrilled to announce that the band is coming to America to play four dates that will include a special appearance at the Coachella Valley Arts and Music Festival . Shows in San Francisco, Chicago and New York are also now confirmed. Tickets for the San Francisco, Chicago and New York dates go on sale this week, (see [...]

Following up on last year's irresistibly charming " All Yr Songs ", Toronto's Diamond Rings offers up "Wait & See". Instantly you will notice that the fluffy cheese that was so warmly welcomed with its predecessor is pretty much gone. It's grounded, more serious, yet you can't help but feel it's still filled-up-to- here with charm, fully equipped with the ironic cheapo drum machine that had initially pulled us into "All Yr Songs". John O'Regan, the man behind the drum machine, will be releasing "Wait & See" on a 73 single, backed with "On Fire" via [...]

Gonjasufi is one of the newest talents to join the much heralded roster of seminal electronic label Warp . If that's not enough of a teaser for you to know Sumach Valentine 's music is something special, how about adding that his full-length debut, A Sufi And A Killer , is produced by a beatmaking A-Team of Flying Lotus , Gaslamp Killer and Mainframe . Released last month, Valentine's split 73 Kowboyz & Indianz / My Only Friend provided a great intro to the yoga instructor slash musician's [...]

The following is a four part 8+ series based upon songs from the film 'Children of Men', the film itself, and the writing of Jorge Luis Borges. All of the songs featured here are originally from the 'Children of Men' soundtrack. This series was originally published sequentially over a four week period and has been collected here to allow you to read the entire story in one place, in order. "Fragments of a Prayer" by John Tavener & [...]

1. MYSTERIOSO. If you're not reading Amazing Spider-Man these days, you're missing out on the best Spider-stories since Roger Stern was at the helm. And over the course of the last half-dozen (or so) issues, Spidey has been running through "The Gauntlet"—the first time he's facing each of his classic villains since Brand New Day. The Sandman story was offbeat and fascinating. The Rhino story was one of the best Spider stories ever—with incredible art by Max Fiumara and a fresh take on the character—and now it's time for Mysterio, with a script by Dan "Mighty Avengers" [...]

At 77, Willie's hair is now down to his tailbone, and you can see his trademark red locks fade to gray about midway up his back-it's like examining the rings of a tree. At last year's Farm Aid concert in St. Louis, Willie Nelson made a guest appearance during Dave Matthews set to sing a duet on Matthews' "Gravedigger", after which Matthews remarked, "Whenever we get behind the things he believes in, the better off we'll all be". Certainly, when you consider Willie's remarkable run of longevity in terms of artistic relevance and physical stamina, it's a hard sentiment [...]
Yeasayer have been an extremely busy band since their debut came out in 2007; they quickly found themselves on tour with MGMT (an arrangement which becomes less surprising with every release), guesting on Bat For Lashes' Two Suns and contributing the vocals of their lead singer to Simian Mobile Disco's Audacity of Huge. The industry connections and widespread exposure granted them not only the freedom to take a lot of time over their follow up, but also to hone it into one of the strangest installments of psychedelic pop music 2010 has seen yet. Far more polished, [...]
THIS ONE'S FOR THE BROS. Tasteless! Shameless! Downright un-classy! All Star Weekend got taken to a whole new level this year and our good friend Alexis, ( Lukewarmgirls ) made us this promo vid to showcase the parties. University All Star Weekend happens every year here in the Monty ever since the godfather Noah Buchman started it five years back. This year, we partnered with Pornhub.com and Beach Travellers and took things to a whole other level. Three parties in three nights which featured: Bouncy castle's with balls inside, inflatable boxing rings, [...]

I wrote and produced this about seven years ago - that's my dear Elle on the vocals. The pic is in a photo booth after one of our DJ sets at The Standard hotel in downtown Los Angeles. I can't find the original ProTools session of this song but figured this recording was a good share. Download and play in a good stereo - you'll see. The lyric still rings true. In fact, I found a folder full of tracks we put together I'll start offering on this site as time goes on. Let's [...]

AC Slater and his imprint Party Like Us Records are back with a new release from Udachi who comes hot off the heels of his recent collaboration with Jubilee (they released the "Paypur/Smoke Rings" EP) on Nightshifters . Udachi finally gives us his first original production since the "Jellyroll" release on Trouble & Bass last summer. "P-Funk Skank" is a full on party track gets the nasty techno remix treatment from DC tag team Nadastrom . Udachi - P-Funk Skank (Nadastrom remix) (direct [...]

Walking north on the east side of Las Vegas Blvd, it was a bit surreal to happen upon the newish Las Vegas outpost of Pink's Hot Dogs. Something like a funhouse mirror of our own local institution, Pink's LV is basically a door on the front facade of Planet Hollywood. However, there is a nice sized self-seating area, right on the boulevard, most welcome on this stretch of well tread street. There is a line to place your order, but it is short, moves fast and-crucially-does not run parallel to the food preparation itself, [...]
