Sambassadeur - Free MP3 of the upcoming single "Days." Labrador Records writes: "Sambassadeur are right now putting the final touch to their upcoming album "European" which will be out on February 24. Without revealing too much the band has told us that electric guitars were prohibited on the recordings. A first single called "Days" will be out on December 2. You can download it for free today -----> here ." I really liked the song "Final Say" and I played it on Like Sugar PopCast 5 .
The Bravery have posted another new video from their 2009 album, Stir The Blood . It was directed by Mike Hindert.

The breton buckwheat cake recipe featured today on eating/sf is a new favorite of ours. Thanks to the buckwheat, it is dense, rustic and has a slight, but noticeable, hint of alcohol courtesy of the rum. More, it's buttery and aromatic thanks to the cinnamon. The addition of sea salt gives it a nice little tang that makes it quite different from the typical sweet dessert. That is why it is a great dessert for adding toppings (such as maple syrup and/or yogurt or whipped cream). For those reasons, The National's sophomore album, Sad Songs [...]
Video: The Bravery "Sugar Pill"
I only met Mark Mulcahy once. It was on the night that Mark and Ken played the North Star with The Mountain Goats who were on tour with Bowerbirds. This is the first night that I was lucky enough to have met my friend Ken Maiuri (an amazing musician and person, bar none , as they say). This was also the night that I received the most amazing hug in the World from John Darnielle, who come to think of it: should go down in history as a man with a Gift of Hug. It was a magical night. [...]

"I'm supposed to advertise myself, so any questions?" seems to be Wallis Bird's personal calling card for the evening. Most of the queries revolve around Wallis' phone number (087-4, apparently), but she's doing a solid job of advertising herself without the assorted between-song antics, producing a charismatic, bubbly singer-songwriter set that's a touch cheesy yet intriguing and fulfilling at the same time. No doubt Wallis picked up a few fans along the way, but right from the off there's no doubt who the sell-out Olympia crowd are wedged against the barriers for. [...]

So Fall Out Boy is taking a break . Or maybe they aren't, and it's really just a sugar-coated break-up? They're denying it's nothing of the sort , so we'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but in the meantime we have a few suggestions for how Pete, Patrick & Co. should invest their free time: Pete Wentz Pete has enough going on in his life already besides being in a band – he has his baby Bronx, his wife, and a move to New York now that Ashlee's [...]
The Bravery have a new music video out for "Sugar Pill." The video was directed by the band's bass player Mike Hindert, the same person who directed the band's previous chilling clip for "Hatefuck." The new album by The Bravery, Stir The Blood, comes out on December 1. Check out ...
A while back we shared the video for The Bravery's "Hatefuck" with you. This time it's the highly stylized "Sugar Pill" from the band's upcoming album, Stir the Blood , which will be out on December 1 (pushed back from it's original release date ).

The Twelves have released 3 fantastic mixtapes and so far I've posted two and it's been one of the most downloaded files on this site. The time has come to complete the series with the with yet another jewel, Episode II . Aside from Steph Lund's Le Miel du Mois (recently crowned mixtape goddess on The Clink ), I can't say I've heard many mixtapes that can keep my attention for more then a song but this series has absolutely no problem accomplishing that task. I quoted my friend Ben when I posted their last mixtape [...]

Hot on the heels of last year's awesome Find Me A Drink Home , the Lansing, Michigan trio Cheap Girls is back with another great full-length full of straightforward punkish power-pop, My Roaring 20's . There really aren't any huge changes to be found when comparing My Roaring 20's to their debut, but (again) it seems as if Cheap Girls know exactly what it is they do well and just stick with it. The production is (however) a bit better but still retains enough of the lo-fi charm that no one will accuse [...]

I seen and written about New York phenomenon the Phenomenal Handclap Band many times now since the summer , but I feel like my love for this band and their catchy tunes isn't going to wane anytime soon. The latest? The band has out now an album of remixes of 'You'll Disappear' and '15 to 202, two of the best earworms from their self-titled debut. Luminaries from the dance scene including Prins Thomas , David E. [...]

Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump and Daryl Hall get their groove on Live from Daryl's House The two pair up for 25th installment of groundbreaking web series Fall Out Boy vocalist Patrick Stump writes most of the music for his platinum-plus Chicago rock band, but he's also a closet R&B/soul fan who has produced tracks for fellow Windy City rapper Lupe Fiasco , and is a longtime fan of Daryl Hall 's music, which makes him the [...]

Upon first listen, Butte's I Don't Want To Complain To You comes off as an adequate album of straight forward power pop. Luckily, I've kept it in steady rotation for the past few months and recently realized its staying power. Often I will receive a record, review it, and be done with it. I don't see that happening with Butte's new release. Butte consists of John Schuppel and Mike Grunder, two Madison music stalwarts who have done time in numerous local bands including The Lee Rays and The Sugar Jets. This long history [...]

The Indiecision Decade In Review is our retrospective of the last 10 years in Indian independent music. These are our picks of the best Indian indie songs of the last decade. #15: 'Ebb' - Lounge Piranha Despite how much Lounge Piranha claim they're 'post-rock', they're not. At their most experimental on their debut album Going Nowhere they found themselves somewhere between moody, lyrical pop-alt and drone-y, rhythm heavy splooge that was basically an [...]

A man from Memphis plods onto the Whelan's stage. Attached to his stout frame is a Gibson Flying-V guitar. Hailing from a city predominantly affiliated with the blues, he aims a plectrum at an instrument which has been adopted by purveyors of kitschy hair metal. The ensuing racket may well extract some of the despair of the blues as well as more than a few decibels of metal, but it is neither (nor, thankfully, a hybrid). Instead, Jimmy Lee Lindsey is a psychopathic popstar. He's Del Shannon with static and a sneer. He's Buddy Holly with a [...]
