I have to imagine the boys in Blacklist listened to a lot of Echo & The Bunnymen, Comsat Angels and Love & Rockets when they were growing up. That's not a slight, as clearly one could do far worse in one's musical upbringing. What exactly is New Wave music? Beats me. It ends up becoming a catch-all term for New Romantic/synthpop, post-punk, and many a late 70s/early 80s band. Well, even current bands can still be described as such. Despite this ambiguity, I've attempted an assemblage of what I would consider New Wave artists for this week's mix. My high school class reunion is on Saturday in Oak Valley, a town within the township where I grew up.
