Wednesday 3rd of February is the date for Haiti Aid Dublin, a music marathon taking place in Whelan's and the Village. Tickets are €20 with proceeds going towards the Irish Red Cross's work in Haiti. The event will be hosted by Michelle Doherty and features a marvellous line-up. I was originally planning to go see the Butterfly Explosion gig in Whelans on St. Patrick's Eve but I'm having a re-think due to the free gig organised in The Lantern Bar in Navan. St. Paddy's Eve is a whole 15 years since I met my future wife so we are thinking a night of singer-songwriters is better than a packed Whelans.
