This is pretty hilarious and embarrassing, but I'll share it anyway because I have no filter to stop me from divulging every thought I have. I almost choked to death yesterday. Don't be alarmed, don't be frightened; it wasn't like I was eating something savory like a sandwich or a hunk of meat. I was eating fucking popcorn at the movie theater and I almost died. A tiny kernel of popcorn nearly took down the world's preeminent self-absorbed blogger. I'm pretty sure if I had not regained the ability to breathe, and I had actually died, my friends [...]
Taking quite a few steps back from the edge-of-campy fanged seductress role Shakira giddily portrayed on She-Wolf 's chaotic, attention grabber of a first single/ title track , follow-up single "Did It Again" finds the Colombian siren proving to be just as engaging as a vulnerable damsel participating in a casual sex-based relationship (with a married man) that she knows is no good for her sensitive heart, yet is just far too hot to easily break away from. "I'm in trouble/ But It feels like heaven," she confesses atop an atypically low-key [...]

With her lion's mane of theatrically red hair and strikingly pretty, elfin features, Esther O'Connor looks decidedly more otherworldly than your average pop-folk-rock princess. It only takes one song to be a star and in "Lost Innocence" she has a sure-fire hit. Well, sure-fire, given a realistic marketing budget. You've got to have heard of her before you can buy it, or something like that. And therein lies a familiar tale we will come on to shortly. Meanwhile the video to "Lost [...]
Sunday nights are usually meant for watching the newest HBO shows. The last season had an extremely uneventful season of " Entourage " and " True Blood " has definitely gotten my blood percolating (vampire pun intended) Anna Paquin playing the damsel in distress is kind of sexy and the storylines are abundant. Jason Schwartzman's newest endeavor involves a self-loathing novelist living in New York mending a broken heart that decides to moonlight as a dick for hire in search of new material for his writing career. [...]

Filed under: News , UK Quite apart from being one of the richest, most successful rock frontman on the planet, Chris Martin has another reason to smile, apparently -- a yoga-toned body. The director of Coldplay 's video to recent single 'Strawberry Swing' told B.B.C. 6 Music as much after winning three awards for the video at the UK Music Video Awards. Kenny, from the video makers Shynola, said he had been worried the Coldplay singer may not have been able to [...]
So my Kyle Jackson and I are friends. He's a sick indie photographer. The cat shoots skaters. The cat shoots people. The cat shoots nature. He's very good. So good that I can't even describe it. View for yourself. Kyle Jackson's Flickr See? Told ya. He's going to see Colour Revolt tonight. That'll be cool. Naked And Red - Colour [...]

Christina Aguilera has one of the strongest voices of our era. No doubt about it. As much as we love her, we thought that the greatest hits collection was premature and Back To Basics , though it had some solid gems, had too much fluff. Still, we don't doubt for one second her ability to deliver unlike any of her generation. If you ask us who won the Mickey Mouse Club race to the top, we'd say Christina. Still, ever since Stripped , which is one of the greatest pop album on this green earth, we [...]

The director that shall remain nameless who got a hold of the Batman franchise in the mid nineties needs to be slapped. We went along with it for the first two movies when Tim Burton was behind the directing wheel, but once Val Kilmer took over the iconic lead roll it was all down hill from there. Batman Forever and Batman and Robin were entertaining at best with the only excitement coming from which A-list actors will fill out the cast, and which villains will be brought to life to toy with the Bat. But bluntly, [...]

Ever need to play a song that fit your mood when you were pissed off at the world? Ever have trouble finding a song that matched the loud fits of your anger with the lyrical expression of your rage? Well look no further, as for no reason whatsoever and having nothing to do with me turning a year older this week, here are my favorite songs I like to play when I'm in a less than sunny mood. Enjoy! 1. "You and Me" Archers of Loaf [...]
However else you feel about Coldplay, you'd have to be a pretty big hater to refuse to admit that their videos are usually pretty entertaining affairs. Coldplay's newest clip for Viva La Vida track, "Strawberry Swing" is a pretty fantastic affair, with Chris Martin donning a cape and tights, resucing a damsel in distress, and doing a lot of other stuff in between. You can watch it here . This video was directed by Shynola, who's also directed videos for Beck, Blur, and Radiohead. [ Pitchfork ]
Coldplay released their newest video off Viva La Vida with Strawberry Swing . Putting the project in the hands of Shynola who previously worked with Beck, Blur and even Radiohead. After doing the whole puppets things for a little bit (which was amazing), Chris Martin now takes the lead as a live-animated superhero, straight off your favorite comic book living a motion-stopped adventure trying to rescue a damsel in distress, making his way through colourful obstacles along the way.

The newest Viva La Vida clip was directed by Shynola, an artist group that's worked with Beck ("E-Pro"), Blur ("Crazy Beat"), and Radiohead ("Pyramid Song"), among others. Here, they pulled out all the artistic stops. We've already seen Coldplay as classroom puppets . This time, Chris Martin takes the lead as a live-animated superhero who's shaken from his drab apartment to save a damsel in distress, only after battling giant squirrels, water creatures, and other obstacles. When last we saw We Insist!, they were defying logic with their incredibly infectious release Oh! Things Are So Corruptible , an album packed past the grooves with deft tempo changes infused with a sense of melody that sticks with you like gum on the bottom of your boot. Guess what? The lads are back . . . and they haven't veered off course in the slightest. If anything, they focused this vehicle of musical expression to a laser fine point and targeted the spirit of adventure square in the center of the bull's eye. In most [...]

Once more an early morning Sunday battle ensues between the resilient iron fist of golden oldies Tony Christie and Status Quo in the blue corner, standing face to face with promising electro indie pop pioneers Wave Machines and Glastonbury's house band of the weekend, We Have Band , over in the red. Awaking to the hymnal wafts of the WaterAid West Country Community Choir , this is about as close as life gets to an 'Easy' Sunday morning. Wave Machines' brand of emotionally scarred psychedelia owes more than [...]

...or an extremely wishful thinker. As "the music man," you already know one of my aunties hit me with an mp3 player when I got to my parents house yesterday. 2GBs with the only instructions "I want the Beyonce 'Put A Ring On It' video (anybody got an .avi version or know how to convert .mkv's to .avi?) and that song by whatshisname...you know...that one man." "Who? John Legend (my mom's favorite so I just figured)? D'Angelo? Anthony Hamilton?" "No, that one man...with that one song...*breaks into a light alto* 'Theeereee goooeess..." [...]

Remember ol'Star Face, the innocent damsel who asked for 3 star tattoos on her face...then fell asleep, awaking with 56 stars across her head ? The one who look like she got a money shot from Orion © Mo' G ? Remember her? Yeah, she lied. "...The 18-year-old has finally confessed she did not fall asleep, that she wanted all the stars and was 'fully aware' of what Mr Toumaniantz was doing. Ms Vlaminck told a Dutch TV crew: 'I asked for 56 stars and initially [...]

Brixton's newest damsel has unveiled her new album cover. It's simple, yet fun. Nothing new, but still powerful. The colors and even the typeface for the album title is good even though it could easily look out of place, but it works with the concept.
