Blogging on the band's website , British Sea Power guitarist Noble said, "We are well into recording and writing our 5 th album, and have over 15 songs on the go." The as-yet-untitled album follows in the wake of the Man of Aran documentary soundtrack released earlier this year. British Sea Power broke onto the U.K. music scene with the phenomenal The Decline of British Sea Power in 2003, and has a reputation for performances that include twigs, foliage, air-raid sirens, plastic birds, and the occasional 10-foot-tall bear. While we previously previewed the Holiday 2009 photoshoot from 10.DEEP, here is the lookbook video that took to the battlefield, armed with camera, and ample loads of ammunition. Taking from the streets of the city all the way upstate to the woods, the fall foliage proved to be the perfect backdrop to 10.DEEP's hunting and outdoor inspired collection. The video not only inspired some retail desire, but also a longing for the great outdoors–recall the simple, good ol' days of grilling a burger, and well, sniping your best buddies in the field. Have fun with the action-packed [...]

If "Days," the first single to Sambassadeur's new album that's to be released in February, is any indication it seems like the new album might be Sweden's answer to the last Camera Obscura album. "Days" certainly hits all the same enjoyable orchestral pop buttons that "French Navy" did earlier this year. With sweeping strings, playful vocal melodies, and splashes of twinkling keys, "Days" is the type of song that makes the changing colors of the foliage easier to handle. [ YANP ]

Here's a crazy a song I just wrote last week and I have no idea what it's about. Originally, I thought I did, but now I don't know for sure. It's super short with a very odd ending. You will like if you're of a strange mind like me: Shame mp3 Here's the pics from the same batch as yesterdays. I hope you dig them. Lake Michigan waves in autum foliage during a purple [...]

Yep, here's the autumn love song for you all (I'm repeating it cause I seem to consistently like it after many listenings...yep, I'm really critical of myself): There Once Was mp3 These were taken last year. It's going to take me a while to get through the stuff from this year as well as the one's I didn't get around to post last year (if only I could fall into independent wealth to do this art stuff full [...]

This week's station: " Harvest Time " . The smell of the changing leaves, the first drops of rain, the crisp cool air, the sweaters, the dying leaves that were once such resplendent colors, and the anticipation of the coming snow, autumn represents a time of change, freshness, and a shift in the seasons. Also, some of the best, most ingrained memories of our lives come from the next few months: the memories of summer, the gathering in of families, and of harvest. Whether it's the changing of foliage or whatever nostalgic [...]

If you've come here from the WFMU blog seeking more photographs of the foliage in New Jersey, I suggest you go back and take a closer look at the pictures I posted over there. Surely you caught all the sasquatch, right? RIGHT? Oh my God. You're going to sit there and tell me you didn't see the fucking sasquatch? You? You record collector scum who sits around looking for dust in the grooves of pre-war blues 78s couldn't find the sasquatch? Here, let me help you (click to enlarge) : [...]

Hi, Beware Of The Blog readers. I flew East for a week to visit family and work for my store (Rockaway Records) at the WFMU Record Fair this weekend. Stop by and say hi if you'd like. Tell me I'm not a shitty blogger. Being in New York and New Jersey affords me many opportunities Southern California does not. For example, it's autumn right now. We don't have autumn in Los Angeles. We have couple days of sometimes warm, sometimes cool weather. It might rain or become foggy one night. Other than that, it's in the low 70s [...]

It's a truly beautiful day in New York, so I decided to meet up with a friend at Washington Square Park and get out of Brooklyn. The sunshine, comforting breeze, and autumnal foliage palette inspired me to make another BBBD mix for all of you! I know, the workday is over by now (at least for us EST'ers), but I urge you to download this sucker and save it for tomorrow if you are indeed en route to dinner, prime-time TV, and bed. Maybe the weather won't be quite so spectacular when you return to the office and you'll find [...]

so i've just finished the third revision of my top 100 albums list - which to avoid confusion/arguments is a personal selection, not an attempt at a best of all time list - and to build some interest/excitement in the list beyond myself and the 1-2 other people that have traditionally cared about this i've decided to do a ten day countdown leading up to my number 1 album choice, vh1 best [whatever] of [decade] style. [100 - 91] [90-81] [...]

Good news gang, out beloved peaceFIRE (been a while since we heard from him) is gonna drop his debut release called Rainbow EP on the 15th of October, it will be a very limited 123 vinyl, 200 pieces to be exact. And it will be released on Positive and Focused Records and will also feature that awesome remix of Keenhouse. You can get it here (I already did) For those who don't know peaceFIRE I can tell you that he was one of the first to get me into the [...]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =OjG4K9WnixM I've been vaguely obsessed wit this song for the past few days. While the E6 collective were too-often deified (and later written off) as 60's revivalists, their best work managed to transcend their Wilson/Lennon/McCartney fetishes to reach altogether weirder and more experimental territory. "Black Foliage Animation" from which California Demise originates is the perfect example: a sprawling 27 track opus full of noise collages, brilliant pop songs and subtle recurring themes; it defies conscious understanding (and review) working best on a primordial level, preferably one reached through copious drug use. A decade's [...]

Here's a purty new Micachu video that features the electronic girl-wonder, aka Mica Levy multiplied against passing trees and foliage. Micachu and the Shapes are easily the best new artists of the year, but hey don't just take my word for it, here's what Bjork had to say about her... "I ...
