Currently touring in Europe with the original line up, Gong continue to amaze audiences with their musical tales of Pot Head Pixies, Gnomes, Zero The Hero and more. Going back to the beginning of the 'noughties' decade and Gong were continuing to tour worldwide on a regular basis. This recording is from the 9th September 2000 at the Great American Music Hall, San Francisco, California. This is a full concert and features quite a lot of material from the 1970's era of the band. Gongs latest album '2032' was released in September [...]

THE TANGENT TO RELEASE "DOWN AND OUT IN PARIS AND LONDON" IN STORES TUESDAY 11/10/09 ON INSIDEOUT MUSIC Down And Out In London And Paris, their latest of five studio releases to date, sees prog rock band The Tangent concentrate more than ever before on their artistic expressiveness. "Our new album is a 100 percent musical project. Where the previous album, Not As Good As The Book, was this whole multimedia thing with illustrations and science fiction novel, this one is about five pieces of music on a single CD," keyboardist/guitarist/vocalist Andy Tillison points out. "In terms of [...]
There's that old adage that it takes a village to raise a child; turns out that same goes for albums. And being one for making good decisions, hip-hop wunderkind Kid Cudi is talking a new effort that involves some of music's biggest names. In an interview with MTV News at the Ulalume Music Festival, Cudi spoke about another project (other than the Man on the Moon followup and the Chip Tha Ripper collabo ) entitled Cudder . The ablum, Cudi said, would be all [...]

Wow, it's already October. I guess time flies when you're having fun or something like that. On Friday I'm torn about the Dinosaur Jr show at the Middle East for a little Pioneer Valley rock or Jay Retard at Harpers or Jetset and Highland Moore at the Plough, too many choices. Saturday has another good night of music with Ra Ra Riot at the Paradise (I love their Rhumb Line cd but have never seen them live yet), a great local line up at TTs with Sidewalk Driver, The Motion Sick, Aloud and John Powhida's International Airport and yet another [...]

Beginning Nov. 3, the site will add more than 1,000 titles from 919 artists to the approximately 500 that are currently available for purchase from the site's Concert Vault section, Bill Sagan, CEO and founder of Wolfgang's Vault LLC and its parent company, Norton LLC, tells Billboard.com. This is one of those weekends that I've been looking forward to for a long time and if you have too then yay! It's here. On Thursday, there's free ice cream at Coldstone Creamery which is a good start to any weekend. Also on Thursday, there are good choices for music for exotica/tiki music there's Waitiki at Ryles, there's Moby at the House of Blues, there's Poi Dog Pondering at the Regatta Bar, there's Elizabeth and the Catapult at TTs and Three Day Threshold at Toad. The Friday show that I'm really looking forward to is a big one at [...]
Happy Autumnal Equinox! I can't believe that we are entering the fall season, how did that happen? Fortunately there are many shows to occupy our time and to keep us from thinking about the upcoming cold weather that right around the corner. On Thursday I hope you got you code to see Polyphonic Spree at the Paradise. If you didn't, there's always uke master Melvern Taylor at Toad or you can go to the Middle East to catch Hollywood starlet turned to rocker, Juliette Lewis. On Friday, there are lots of great choices and you can't go wrong with any [...]
This weekend is chock full of cool things to add to your calendar. On Thursday, there are a couple of instrumental shows that look good. There's the Dirty Three at the ICA or if local bands are more your thing, there's a strong triple bill at TTs with Axe Munkee, The Invisible Rays and the Weisstronauts. But if you're feeling funky and want to hear Cult of Personality, head over to Johnny D's for the big show with Living Colour, but get there early (like 6p) if you really want to get in. On Friday, make certain you sign [...]
So here we are at Labor Day Weekend, does that mean that summer's over? I hope not...So if you're not going away for the long weekend, here are some options for you. On Thursday you can check out Kay Hanley doing her solo thing at TTs (as I write this, it's soldout on line but there are tix at the door so get there early, like 6p). Also on Thursday is the popular indie band !!! aka Clik Clik Clik at the Middle East (I think there are still tix available for the show but no guarantees). On Friday The [...]
This is a huge weekend for music, lots of really great shows to choose from. On Thursday there's a strong bill at the Middle East Upstairs with Lights Out, The Future Everybody (featuring former members of Scamper) and Gene Dante & the Future Starlets (to add a little glam to your life). There's also Three Day Threshold finishing their Thursday residency at Atwoods. Friday looks busy busy busy. If you need a touch of a New Orleans party then the House of Blues show with the Neville Brothers and Dr John is for you (and hopefully you got to take [...]
I hope you're surviving the heat, I know it makes it difficult to even think about doing things but there are plenty of great rock shows to tempt you. On Thursday you can get your inner arena rock star on at Bang Camaro at the Middle East or head to the Cape to get your inner soft rock 1970's AM radio self on at the Cape Cod Melody Tent with Loggins and Messina. Or you can catch Three Day Threshold at Atwoods as they continue their residency there [...]

This is your last chance to get some free culture and enjoy Shakespeare under the stars on the Boston Common. I haven't managed to make it, maybe this weekend? The Starlight Mints and Wye Oak at the Middle East on Thursday looks like a great show, thinking about that one. On Friday there are way too many choices of rock with the ultimate rockers Rock Bottom at Johnny D's, Angeline at the Plough and Six Finger Satellite at TTs. On Saturday, I'm betting their will be many people at Harpers Ferry in Allston to see The Radiators (and pretend they're [...]
As always, there's an eight-hour pile of tracks for you today. Here's how it breaks down: - Six songs get repeated in that eight hours, so it's four hours between plays for those six songs. They're the ones in " The Grinder ", in case you're wondering what I mean by that when I say it on the FM Showcase (which, by the way, is on 90.5 The Night tonight at 10pm .) - The rest of the songs are set up so [...]
On Thursday, if you can't afford tix to see Sir Paul McCartney at Fenway (and who can these days?) check out Three Day Threshold at Atwoods Tavern for free. Friday night has O Positive doing a benefit show at the Paradise, Harvey Danger doing a farewell show at Harpers (who knew they were even still together?)and a Tribute Night at Church with The Dictators, Cheap Trick and the Jam (so those actual bands won't be there but if you close your eyes you can pretend). There are a couple of shows on Saturday that look interesting, Dave Aaronoff at the [...]

Image From Here It is so easy for me, these days, to escape from everything. To hide from the world. It's the disease I have that controls me and it causes me to want to escape from it all. I sleep excessively every day and then spend my waking time fighting this nasty illness. The drugs work a little but they do not help me like they should. Escaping is my only real coping mechanism. And it is not really a healthy one. But, it is the only way I can get through this life [...]

HUGE month for Austin, especially for you Spoon lovers out there. (And really, if you're reading this, you're probably a Spoon lover.) In support of their brand new EP Got Nuffin , the Austin band plays a triptych of shows at the hometown BBQ joint Stubb's . The Vans Warped Tour also makes its annual turn-around the Lone Star State. (The more astute readers will notice that we've added Las Cruces, New Mexico to the listings.) And for those of you hoping, the above image is from last year's 4th of July... [...]

Apparently free or cheap food are big hits so we'll start with shout outs for free grilled chicken at KFC on Monday and $.31 ice cream at Baskin Robbins on Wednesday. Sorry I missed the $.50 Dunkin Donuts coffee last week... Onto the music! The Thursday show at the Middle East could be really fun with Quintron and Miss Pussy Cat. And of course there's a tribute night to the ledgendary Johnny Cash at Johnny D's and how can [...]
