Li'l Cap'n Travis has always been one of our favorite Austin bands and we always make a point to check them out when they play around town. Folks who insist young people won't listen to jazz should have been at Medeski, Martin and Wood's show Friday at the Austin City Limits Music Festival. I don't know how many were watching, but I'm guessing the audience numbered in the thousands. It was a diverse crowd, too, composed mostly of music fans under 30. The Austin City Limits Music Festival 2009
The Austin City Limits Music Festival is an annual three-day music and art festival in Austin, Texas's Zilker Park. The Festival brings together more than 130 bands on eight stages, including rock, country, folk, indie, Americana, hip-hop, reggae, and bluegrass, and attracts a crowd of about 65,000 visitors each day.
