Click here to view the embedded video. Well, the mainstream is picking up on this a bit late, but better late then never, right? Let's Go Sailing's brilliantly sweet The Chaos In Order has been a constant listen since it came out a couple years ago. One of the most memorable tracks is "Icicles" (though it's hard to pick a legit standout track because they're all so good), which Radio Shack realized (...two years late) and have now decided to feature it on their appropriate wintry commercial, "Product Tree Farm". mmmair : my-my-my : inflightradio : emilylikespolo : daisychainss : captainoo : Would do real updates, but currently spending some time with the family…and I forgot to bring my external harddrive. Ironically, after I do this post, my ipod touch will go through a drastic reformat and will exchange hands with my brother. (He's never had an ipod before. I figured a 2nd gen ipod touch is a good place to start) Anyway, here goes nothing: Sharon [...]
There is no denying that Phish has been absolutely killing it this summer. Let me put that out there right at the beginning to alleviate any thoughts that this list is meant to serve as a bashing mechanism. The first leg (June) of the summer tour was highlighted, musically, by Camden, a scorching final day Bonnaroo first set with Bruce Springsteen and two awesome shows in Wisconsin at Alpine Valley. July and August have proven to be just as solid with incredible stands at Red Rocks and The Gorge so far. [...]

A big part of the success of this decade's TV show's come from the praise-worthy timing and befitting if not ironic songs that carry one of the best moments of the season / series. One of the best TV shows on primetime today showcasing the best unique songs in the music industry, giving more texture and feel to dramatic and riveting scenes that characterize the TV show. Season 3 was one of the best seasons of Grey's Anatomy in my opinion, hence, the feature. Introducing the songs from episode 1 [...]

Chances are you won't recognise his name, but as manager of London vinyl-mecca, Phonica records, and with regular DJ spots at giants including Fabric and Bugged Out, Simon Rigg is a distinguished force within modern electronic music. From a humble role at Oxford Street Virgin Records, Simon quickly progressed, via an ear for innovative records and an eye for a stylish set-up, to manage his own shop, Koobla. Two years later, the guys who own Vinyl Records and FACT magazine asked him to create a shop from scratch, and Simon understandably jumped at the opportunity. An old car [...]
Most Likely To: make you dust off Staring at the Sea. Looks like New Wave is still all the rage. American Laundromat Records celebrates our undying love for The Cure with sixteen tracks of top notch covers by indie sweethearts like New Zealanders The Brunettes and North Carolina's Rosebuds. The album's title track and opener revisits Robert Smith's lovey-dovey Billboard hit "Just Like Heaven," done up by NYC rockers Joy Zipper. Sounding more like a guy-girl duet, the Joy Zipper version's irresistible charm makes it hard not to sing along. With its [...]
Our show, which has sent many a psychoanalyist into a Freudian-tizzy about Oedipus complexes, is coming to a wrap with the Final Decisions. Will the Boys act like Men or will they give in to their mother's wishes? And what stunt will Mrs. B pull out this time? Find out... after the jump. The Dates After a two minute recap of the previous five shows, JoJo gets the embarrassing treatment of the week. Since Mrs.B refused to pick either girl last [...]

Kitty update: She's holding on only by virtue of scheduling. I originally had an appointment for her to, well, you know, go to that final appointment in the sky yesterday, but I had difficulty trying to find an empathetic vet assistant for that day (please--when I'm making arrangements to put my cat to sleep, don't say you'll have to "put her on ice" for the weekend) so I'm waiting until Tuesday because I have Veteran's day off. I'm going to spend the morning with her and then we'll take her out to my favorite vet and vet assistant who moved [...]

In the Book Notes series, authors create and discuss a music playlist that is in some way relevant to their recently published books. Death and mortality are surprisingly common themes in popular music, and Graeme Thomson explores these themes in I Shot a Man in Reno: A History of Death by Murder, Suicide, Fire, Flood, Drugs, Disease, and General Misadventure, As Related in Popular Song , a book that music fans will cherish not only for its lists of songs and cultural insights but also for the discussions it is [...]
