On Thursday if you're feeling jazzy then Birdsongs of the Mesozoic at Johnny D's is for you and if you're feeling indie then We Are Scientists at the Middle East or Clues at Great Scotts is for you and if you're nostalgic then head to New Bedford for The Romantics. Friday starts free Shakespeare on the Boston Common with the Comedy of Errors and runs through August 16th. Also starting on Friday is the Newport Folk Festival, so many good bands on this bill including The Decemberists, Neko Case and so [...]
So nobody accused Canadians of being quick (unless we are talking about hockey and drinking beer) but we do catch up eventually. All kidding aside (except for the beer part) one of the many great Canadian singer songwriters is Matthew Barber (brother of Jill Barber ) and his "Ghost Notes" album is seeing a bit of action south of the border next week on April 14th.
