i gotta be honest, this pic doesnt make me happy. there is nothing wrong with the picture, mind you, but damn if the men of pearl jam arent looking a little old. you know what that means, right? yeah, i, too, no longer look like the fresh faced 17 year old that wore out 4 copies of his ten tape back in 91/92. only slightly depressing.... here are the elder statesmen, pearl jam, playing in madrid, spain on 6.9.07 @ festimand sur. its an fm broadcast, btw. 1. porch [...]

WOSU , Columbus's PBS affiliate, isn't airing Pearl Jam's Austin City Limits performance on Saturday night. PJ fans are upset .
Pearl Jam have repurposed their performance of "Just Breathe," a somber ballad from Backspacer , on Austin City Limits as the official video for the track. Good move, since this is full of fist-pumping fans, earnest Eddie Vedder faces and a cellist who looks like he is listening to other music on his iPod. I totally feel you, buddy. Backspacer is out now.

Artist: Creedence Clearwater Revival Album: Bayou Country Release Date: January 5, 1969 Out of all the bands from before my time that I listen to, I think it's a perpetual fight between The Who and CCR for my favorite. What's weird is the fact that CCR rarely comes up when I listen to stuff, so I tend to subconsciously put their output in the back of my mind (note that I used to do the same with Pearl Jam). But then I turn on an album like [...]
Steven "Pav" Pavlovic is founder and director of international record label Modular, which represents many of the names in the music industry right now: The Presets, Cut Copy, Ladyhawke and Van She, to name a few. What does your company do? Anything and everything with any kind of questionable link to good music. What is your background in music/business? I started out managing bands, then booking local venues around Sydney and then moved into promoting tours for both local and international bands, some of which [...]

Back on the world stage for the first time in thirty three years (and for the first time ever on these shores), Yusuf Islam has chosen to make his return in a decidedly eclectic and non-conformist manner. It was, undoubtedly, a spectacular way to make your Irish debut - the massive, near sell out, O2 Arena, and despite his singer songwriter identity and persona, his stature and the performance ensured the massive venue had, at points, an intimate feel. Often his charm and character meant it felt like he was performing for you and nobody else. The first half was [...]
When My Morning Jacket played their legendary performance in the rain at Bonaroo last year, who knew that it would be the inspiration for an episode of American Dad ? Specifically, the 8-minute long rendition of Motley Crue's "Home Sweet Home," featuring comedian Zach Galifianakis dressed as Little Orphan Annie . In the audience for the set was American Dad co-creator Mike Barker, and he's pulled not only My Morning Jacket in for the episode this Sunday (titled, "My Morning Straightjacket"), but also Zach Galifanakis, who provides the voice of an MMJ superfan. [...]

This is The Cure live at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre Vancouver, B.C. Canada on Thursday, August 1st, 1996. This is from a 'Kiss The Stone' (KTS618) silver disc that was curiously entitled 'Queen Elisabeth Parade', and although it's very good quality recording and apart from the typo's only tracks 1 - 12 are from the gig, and as the concert lasted for over two hours this is clearly only part of the show. Three 'bonus' tracks from a December 1995 London gig are included. All of which suggests that KTS were unable to get hold of [...]

What was word on the cyberstreet yesterday became official today: the War Room is closing its doors on November 30th . Following in the footsteps of King Cobra , which closed this past February, the eclectic concert and dance venue with the coolest rooftop bar around is calling it quits after five years. Bummer. I didn't make it there nearly as often as other venues in the neighborhood, but the times I did were always memorable. The first show I saw there was Wolf Parade (no shit) and the last was [...]
