As the NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) trade show wraps up in Anaheim this weekend, obviously the biggest buzz overall was about the huge Serato/Ableton collaboration. The ability to incorporate production seamlessly into live, vinyl/cdj controlled DJ sets is going to be a massive game-changer in the coming years. HOWEVER, there were still another few exciting product announcements made at the show, including a slimmed down AKAI Ableton controller, a Rane DJM-800 lookalike with Serato built in, and two different CDJ-style midi controllers. A new daytime event called The Beat Yard taking in discussions, showcases, workshop and a whole lot more takes place this Saturday in the Twisted Pepper, Abbey Street. Serato and Rane just released the new version of the software that forever changed the DJing game. The SL3 simplifies the hooking up process, and is thinner and more compact. The software can run at 24-bit, 48K and has an added audio push. The video below has more info and everything is explained a little better...Anyway, I know that Rane is going to want to market this product heavily, so we thought of some slogans that can go along with the new Serato.
