It is not revolution and though this new album does show progression, it does not reflect monumental change. I have a lot of respect for Seattle's excellent radio station KEXP and so any artist who achieves 'song of the day' recognition is for me, worthy of a listen at the very least. The fact that the promotion that dropped in my inbox a couple of days a go also mentioned the band are from Sweden was an added bonus ! IAT favorite Tobias Hellkvist will be making his live solo debut on November 17 at the church Trinitakis Kirke in Copenhagen, together with P Jørgensen and others. Def sounds like something worth checking out.
For some reason, I've been bombarded with a ton of free downloadable releases that are awesome lately. I don't know if there's some sort of surge ( bring it back!! ) in artists being kinder or what, but this shit is up for grabs and you need get on it asap. This band sounds nothing at all like his solo material, though you may start to find parallel threads if you look hard enough. For instance, that soaring e-bow/delay guitar in the background?
