Artwork by Francesca Bonifacio After you reveal your top albums list, everyone wants to know what your favourite songs of the year were, and thankfully 2012 just happened to produce some stunning tracks. Best songs lists are great because for a site like ours who aggregates our favourite albums based on staff members' favourites, the songs list takes a more unique and different shape as it can include tracks from EPs , remixes, songs not released on albums, etc. As you'll see below our best songs of 2012 list is a widely varied and eclectic collection of music from the last [...]

I know really nothing about Winnipeg's No Label Collective , but I know this Wheels-inspired compilation from their extensive roster of collaborators has put a smile on my face more than once today. Just look at that cover art. I can't even definitively say if it's juvenile or genius, but I do know I would like to posses a giant framed copy of it. For obvious reasons, the first song I clicked on was Crusty Cat's Wheels' Dad Has a Bad Moustache , and its 902s Halifax vibe had me hooked, but there [...]

As great of a year as 2012 was for albums - we had some truly spectacular ones only make an honorable mention - some of us here at LBYB would argue that it's been an even better year for EPs. On top of some incredible new bands that burst onto the scene last year with stellar debut EPs (just look at our top four), some older bands (and even a Grizzly Bear member gone solo) have also put out some interesting ideas in short-form. The order here wasn't [...]
January! A time for new beginnings, this month often finds many of us arbitrarily trying to leave behind those nagging vices & peccadilloes that start little campfires of regret or guilt in our collective guts. For example, I know many folks will be trying to cut back, or cut out entirely, a specific white powder that many of us fiend for on a daily basis. No, not the yayo my friend, but sugar. Yes, sugar. I think we all know that this stuff is not great for the human body, but it is damn delicious and we cannot leave it [...]

We had the terrible idea of doing these lists again. It's a very stressful time of the year in the #goldsweats pressroom/ my bedroom, which is not at all one room or one location any longer. Anyway, here are my colleagues lists in order of appearance: Isaac , Chwalek , $$$ , Soma , and now yours truly. We tried not to be too redundant with a bunch of repeats, it's not like I wasn't listening to Main Attrakionz like all year long, but you'll see that on the $$$ list. No real order or anything, [...]

There were an abundance of awesome music released in 2012, making it yet another difficult year to summarize concisely. We did our best to narrow it down for this mix, but (like every year since we've started) we easily had enough picks to fill a 3 CD set. Many of our top tracks didn't make the cut, but the 30 tracks on here certainly make for a decent glimpse at 2012. Shawn Ryan & Ed Blammo - 2012 Highlights Mediafire • [...]

Artwork by Francesca Bonifacio Yesterday, we unveiled your picks for our 2012 Reader's Poll , and today we're continuing our year-end coverage by revealing our Honorable Mentions. 2012 was a great year for music, and it was tough to only choose 31 albums, so we made sure to include some picks that we enjoyed but didn't quite make it on our list . Be sure to come back to the site everyday for the rest of the week to see our Best EPs and Best Songs of 2012, along with our personal picks [...]

Our collaboration with Edward Green is so huge that it has been highlighted in "HUGE" Japanese Magazine! Indeed, we must say this pair of shoes is one of the climax of our Fall-Winter 2012 collection. Created together with Edward Green, "Rolls Royce" of the british shoemakers, and made in England using the finest calfskin we can find, this limited-edition [...]
About 200 of you guys participated in our annual readers poll, and the results were tight. You had the chance to vote for 5 albums, and I gave each album a point value, decreasing with each vote. So first place got 5 points, second place got 4, etc... The race was very close between Frank Ocean & Tame Impala, but in the end, Frank Ocean took home the Orange gold. All in all, the taste of you faithful bunch alligns quite well with mine, minus Mumford & Sons. In total, 252!! albums were voted for, which is insane. [...]

We have to say we [...]
We're pleased to admire our Denim Western Shirt from the Fall-Winter 2011 collection setted as an example in the "How to become a gentleman" GQ Japan February 2013's publication. We like the photographer Junji Hata's definition of the gentleman: a moustached man ironing in a western shirt and a bow tie. A modern way of authenticity, trully representative of the [...]
