It's like Elf Power with Jimi Hendrix riffs, something akin to the Twink/Peregrin Took school of post-hippie, anti-prog science-fantasy Dylan blues, with lines like "When a spaceship coughs up cowboys and samurai/your coat is stolen by the cat with colored wings." So it's good—certainly promising.

Leslie and the Badgers play in a style more retro than vintage country but nevertheless unique. With their multi-talented instrumentalist stage show, like a gypsy caravan picking up musicians and fans along the way (at least more since I had last seen the group), the band plays its well crafted melodic lines in particular with sweeping violin, slide pedal steel guitar and lyrics such as "When you say I miss you day and night / with love brighter than the ballpark lights / I'm a boat lost at sea siding on the shore / say you miss me once more" [...]

Cobra Lillies are a free-for-all freak folk band made up of several Eastside bands. The band began as a side project for The Monolators, and every time I see them they have new members and routines, which have included stomp dancing, cheerleaders, and tonight a flamboyant fashion show sketch to open the show. There were bicycle bells ringing throughout the night and all sorts of weird, down-homey folksy instruments.
