It seems Adele wasn't the only one upset that her 2012 BRIT Awards acceptance speech was cut short Tuesday night. Host James Corden and UK network ITV have both publicly apologized for rushing the pop star off the stage in the middle of receiving her Best Album award, causing the boisterous chart-topper to flip the bird at “the suits” in retaliation. I actually opted out of watching the grand American spectacle last night. How counter culture am I? My first year on the West Coast and everyone else tweeting all the minutiae hours ahead was enough to throw me into Larry David's arms, knowing full well this shit would be all over YouTube, blogs and MTV until October. At tonight's 15th Annual Webby Awards, James Murphy & crew picked up the "Artist Of The Year" trophy, not for having " the worst website ever " but because they've "fully harnessed the power and scope of the Internet as creative visionaries and musicians" by livestreaming their MSG farewell gig in April. Arcade Fire won a Webby too (for The Wilderness Downtown ), but couldn't make the ceremony. There was however live music from Norah Jones and Antoine Dodson (not together). Kreayshawn wasn't invited.
