Don't know the last time I've been jealous watching a video, but Best Coast's "The Only Place," will come to mind the next time I go through this. Director Ace Norton has images of convertibles, sand, mountains, fireworks, and just plain old fun in the video for Beth Cosentino and co. The visuals can be summed up with a quote from the song, "Why would you live anywhere else? We've got the ocean, got the babes Got the sun, we've got the waves." Ask us that question again when it's winter on the [...]
After last week's explosion of awesome , this week couldn't help but feel something like a letdown in the music-video department. But there was still definitely some heat, especially in our pick for the week's best video, one of the most beguilingly strange and inexplicable clips of the year. Weird anomaly: All five of this week's videos come from solo artists. (That's if we're counting Best Coast as a solo project. Sorry, Bobb Bruno.) Check out our picks below. Read More...

Best Coast 's ode to their California upbringing, "The Only Place," was given its video debut from director Ace Norton, showcasing Bethany Cosentino and Bob Bruno doing normal things that happen to be in California. Check it out below.

Bob Bruno and Bethany Cosentino brand California with "BEST COAST" wherever possible in the fun clip for " The Only Place ," a video that features a rabbit wandering through the remnants of a house party, cheerleaders, fireworks affixed to guitars and bikes, and Bobb Bruno airballing a jumpshot while wearing an L.A. Kings jersey, among other things. Ace Norton directs. Watch it below. Read More...

![[Video] Regina Spektor – “Don’t Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas)”](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4331134_lg.jpg)
I may have a slight bias toward this video since I'm a sucker for simple little camera tricks. It probably stems from my life as a film maker from around age 14 to the ripe old age of 18... Or I could like this music video because it has an adorkably cute little Russian hanging out in a hotel room channeling the charming, whimsical aspects of Amélie . "Don’t Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas)" is directed by Ace Norton and is off Regina Spektor's [...]
Regina Spektor's new album What We Saw From The Cheap Seats has already yielded one video in " All The Rowboats ," and now we get another one, for the jaunty and bilingual "Don't Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas)." In the clip, Spektor acts adorable and weird in a fancy hotel room, playing around in a series of shots so carefully composed that they could be Jacques Tati homages. Ace Norton directs. Watch it below. Read More...

Foster The People – Call It What You Want

Caged Animals debut LP for the UK's Lucky Number label, Eat Their Own , was recorded at home in Bushwick, with a generous serving of pitch-correcting vocal software, modern R&B balladic sensibility, and cross-generational lo-fi slack and chirps. There's a palpable, slightly off-kilter sweetness at the core of the Animals' single "Piles Of $$$," and so having its video directed by quirk auteur Ace Norton was a smart play. Norton has lead Animal Vincent Cacchione and partner/bandmate Magali Charron cast in a Bonnie & Clyde type situation, the lead couple cruising around with piles of $$$ on a melodramatic [...]

We brought you news of the Foster The People track "Helena Beat" all the way back in January , but now it's been given the visual treatment to go with it. continue reading >>
Actor Emile Hirsch reveals his visual interpretation of Daft Punk’s “Alive”, which is taken from their debut LP Homework . The video contains some weird dance off between Ace Norton and Frankie Levangie. Take a look above.
Click here to view the embedded video. Ace Norton is a something of a Hollywood wunderkid. At 28, Norton has directed videos for such artists as Death Cab for Cutie, Norah Jones, Bloc Party, and The Fray. He has also done commercials for Coca Cola, McDonald’s, and Vans, just to name a few. In short, he is brilliant. This video, part of his Soundscapes project commissioned by Dolby Labs, exemplifies such brilliance. For more, check out www.acenorton.com. Bye Scott Warfe

Check out this new video from Felix Cartel . The video is to his track "Volcano", from his debut LP, Popular Music . On the track, Felix Cartel mashes electro, house, dance, and pop to come up with a sound that can only be described as 'bangin.' The video that accompanies the track is no different. Directed by Ace Norton, who has done videos for the likes of LCD Soundsystem and She and Him, decided to take a mash-up approach to the video. What he has done is quite freaky, but cool at the same time. [...]
