It's been circulating that our favourite Beastie, Adam Yauch, is feeling great after battling cancer. His tumour was located in his left parotid gland and has been recovering ever since the tumour's removal. Whew, we were afraid that our MCA wouldn't rap again. Oh the horror. Rumors have been circulating that the Beastie Boys may play Coachella in 2010. Yauch revealed that Coachella is something the band is discussing and trying to figure out. It's been only a few months since doctors found cancer in Adam Yauch's salivary gland and the Beastie better known as MCA is already on the mend. After surgery, a host of well wishes/tributes at All Points West , a trip to India and a chill sesh, I mean, three-day retreat, with the Dalai Lama, Yauch is feeling much better, having responded positively to treatment and telling fans "I'm feeling healthy, strong and hopeful that I've beaten this thing." The Beastie Boys have announced the cancellation of their tour following member Adam "MCA" Yauch 's cancer diagnosis. Yauch was diagnosed last week with parotid gland tumor, a cancerous tumor in his left parotid (salivary) gland. MCA has made the announcement that the doctors have found cancerous cells in his lymph node area. I can't tell you how devastated I was (and still am) when I heard this. The Beastie Boys have been one of the most pivotal groups in Hip-Hop since the beginning, and in my opinion they will continue to be. This is how long we've all lived: The Beastie Boys are no longer fighting for their rights to party; instead they're fighting cancer. Or, at least, Adam Yauch is ; his surgery for a cancerous tumour in his left salivary gland isn't life-threatening, but will play merry hell with the Beastie's schedule.
