Michael "Mike D" Diamond and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz, the two surviving members of the Beastie Boys, are co-authoring a memoir of their time in one of the most important hip-hop acts of the past three decades. According to the New York Times , the book will be less of a conventional tell-all and more of an "oral history," complete with a "strong visual component." Michael Diamond (a.k.a Mike D ) and Adam Horovitz ( Ad-Rock ), the surviving members of the Beastie Boys , have signed a deal with Spiegel & Grau, an imprint of the Random House Publishing Group, for a book celebrating the life and times of one of the music world's most influential and groundbreaking bands. The book is as-yet untitled, but publisher is expected to be release the retrospective in the fall of 2015. It has been nearly a year since Adam "MCA" Yauch of the Beastie Boys passed, so it is only right this fantastic animated tribute popped up to pay respect. The video goes along with an upcoming London art show held by artist James Curran that will apparently hold 35 prints that will be up for sale. I assume those 35 prints will have something to do with the art shown during these lovable animations. Proceeds from the event will go to cancer patients. There are many Beastie Boys lyrics that float around in my head, ready to be recalled at any moment. One in particular goes back to 19982s Hello Nasty and the song "Putting Shame In Your Game".  It's the third verse where MCA raps in his signature gravel tone, "I might stick around or I might be a fad, but I won't sell my song for no TV ad."  Those sentiments were echoed in 20042s To The 5 Boroughs and the record "Triple Trouble" where he raps, "What you get is what you see, and you won't [...]

You know what's probably the most punk thing ever? Dedicating a portion of your will to prohibiting companies from using your music in commercials and advertisements. That's exactly what the late Adam "MCA" Yauch , of Beastie Boys , did. As you are likely thinking: Yes, Ad-Rock and Mike D could choose to sell the music if they wanted to at some point. With the tributes already pouring out, we now receive word from straight from the Beastie Boys that we can expect more music from them, MCA included. In fact, the hip-hop legends had recorded music with the late great back in late 2011, despite him being diagnosed with cancer back in 2009. In the wake of Adam Yauch's tragic and untimely death from cancer, we were interested to read that a group of Brooklyn residents have started a campaign to rename a Brooklyn Heights park in his honor. However, according to the Brooklyn Paper , there's a problem with the idea: the park in question is already named in honor of another notable Brooklyner.
