Aidan Moffat & Bill Wells album Everything's Getting Older is a pairing of two Scottish greats, a multi-instrumentalist composer (Wells) and a heavy accented poet (Moffat). The duo will play The Grand Social in Dublin on Friday, 30th of March. Ticket are priced at €18 (including booking fee) available from Tickets.ie and Ticketmaster .
If there was a market for writing 140-character instant reviews of pop videos as they appear on music TV stations then Aidan Moffat certainly has it cornered. The former Arab Strap man has been tweeting for just over a year now, mostly late at night, mostly while claiming to be intoxicated (but with suspiciously impeccable grammar and spelling). Those who have been following him on Twitter will know that few pop stars escape his QWERTY quashings other than perhaps The Saturdays, Nicola Roberts and the love of his life, Cher Lloyd - but even she had to put [...]

Listen to new Christmas covers by the Civil Wars, David Bazan, Woods, Little Scream, the Bandana Splits, Saskatchewan, Coming Soon, and Aidan Moffat!

Thirty Pounds Of Bone Having tipped him as one of my ones to watch in 2011, I feel like I can't fully remember ever mentioning him ever again. My bad I know, to make up for it here's a free download of one of his gigs recorded in Café Galao, Stuttgart, Germany just a few days ago. ATO Records Fancy some free tunes from the likes of Lisa Hannigan, Mariachi El Bronx, My Morning Jacket and Alberta Cross, well you have to do to get them is to sign [...]
You say Bananarama! We say Bill Wells & Aidan Moffat! Yes, Chemikal's dynamic duo are back with a subdued take on Bananarama's 1983 hit (and not a wrench or Mack truck in sight). The track's taken from the pair's latest EP (also entitled Cruel Summer, and also features the tracks "Box it Up", "Man of [...]

Aidan Moffat has once again partnered with his fellow Arab Strap member Malcolm Middleton for a surprising cover of Slow Club's latest single Two Cousins.

I don't consider myself a jazz fan—I have very little knowledge of the genre; and I only have two jazz albums in my music library: the Sweet and Lowdown Soundtrack and A Charlie Brown Christmas. So it is not surprising that it took me a while to really get Everything's Getting Older by Bill Wells & Aidan Moffat —a brilliant avant-garde jazz album full of soothing piano lullabies and minimalistic percussion. The best part about Everything's Getting Older is the fascinating lyrics and Aidan Moffat's [...]

This rather charming version of Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe" appeared recently on the web world wide, It's the work of Aidan Moffat who you may remember from Scottish miserabilists Arab Strap. Here's his very own thoughts on the track: "I recorded this for a (very, very good) short film by Paul Wright called 'Believe'. It was released on a 7" that came free with the Aidan Moffat & The Best-Ofs limited edition board game box set of 'How To Get To Heaven From Scotland', but otherwise nobody's heard it, and [...]
Aidan Moffat brings I'm No Expert out of retirement on The Quietus because he's worried about Adele: "I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited, But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it," Turn up out of the blue? Okay, so that means you knew where to find me, so you're likely to be either at my work, which is mental, or at my house, which is even worse. If you're at my house and I'm in, that means I'm not working, and if I'm not working [...]
Thursdays are always a bit of a quiet day on the blog, I guess most folk have much better things to do than read my waffle. Since things are a bit slow, then I guess it justifies me using this time to post a few videos that I have been enjoying. First up we have the new video for 'Anti Climb Paint' by FOUND. Continuing on with another Chemikal artist, we have the quite stunning video of 'The Copper Top' by Bill Wells & Aidan Moffat. [...]
A charming and a jarring surprise to find that this collaboration strikes a chord very quickly and is as engaging as it is disarming from start to end

Bill Wells & Aidan Moffat Every man and his dog seems to raving on about how amazing, Bill Wells & Aidan Moffat's new album 'Everthing's Getting Older' is, sadly I have yet to hear it, but their session for Vic on Monday night was really quite breath taking. If you follow this link then you might get a better inclination of what to expect as there's a free download of their song 'The Copper Top' up for grabs. The Douglas Firs If blogger hadn't let me down then I would [...]
After poking its head into yesterday's Music Monday, Bill Wells and Aidan Moffat's "The Copper Top" now has a video available for your viewing pleasure. It's funereal in pretty much a literal sense, but with a lot of charm and not a small amount of wit - as you'd expect from Moffat. The Funeral You've [...]

Maybe it's the world weary delivery or the universality of the themes, but I can never get enough of Aidan Moffat's hangdog story-songs. While recording Monday At The Hug & Pint back in 2003, Arab Strap invited bassist, pianist and experimental jazz composer Bill Wells in to collaborate on a few tunes, and so were sewn the seeds of Moffat and Wells' Everything's Getting Older , the final product of which will finally break the surface on May 10th thanks to the fine folks at Chemikal Underground . [...]

Some of you may not even know where Falkirk is. Well, it's in Central Scotland if you look at a map, but a big reason for it being on that map is Aidan Moffat . Formerly part of Arab Strap with fellow Falkirk resident Malcolm Middleton, Moffat has now teamed with another son of Falkirk in bassist Bill Wells . The results can be found on Everything's Getting Older , a journey through life and love in all it's gritty glory. Aidan Moffat [...]
