There's something really refreshing about watching Alabama Shakes  perform. Part of it is how organic it is, how it's just a band and their instruments. But there's something else about the soulful Southerners' rock. With so many cool kids emerging as new acts to look out for, Alabama Shakes stand out as completely unpretentious, completely about the music. When you watch, you can't help but pick up that down-to-earth vibe from the group. Watch them perform on Letterman below, and stream their entire album Boys & Girls here .

Each time the Alabama Shakes come back to New York City, there's more of a spotlight put on the worth the buzz band.
