"Love in Arms clearly embodies Gabriel Bruce’s eclectic personality: cheesy disco and Chris Isaak’s saccharine macho-rock. And the most aggravating thing is, that he can get away with it..." Gabriel Bruce | Love In Arms Some releases are undeniably bound to a specific genre; others split into two distinct cores, swinging between tendencies, apparently irreconcilably. Gabriel Bruce’s Love in Arms belongs to the latter category, creating a strong bond between gloomy-blues-y groove and cheesy 80s synth wave. The awaited debut of the London artist, who received glowing praise from Spector’s Fred MacPherson, clearly embodies [...]

I’m sure Andrew Wyatt is proud of his achievement and the satisfaction of creating such a unique album must be immense. In this day and age of cack-handed computer studio jiggery pokery I’m grateful that there are some musicians who want to use real instruments and thoughtful arrangements, to give us music with soul. Luuk Graham, The Hague native drops his second release with Lowriders Recordings. After his recent remixes, a beattape and some digi releases finally the Poly EP is ready for the public ear. The sound has grown in depth and strength. Inspired by UK bass and the Dirty South HipHop scene, he fits in the hip trap/bass culture with his more uptempo tracks but as easily links to the more head-hop tunes as you'd expect from guys like Shlohmo. To me personally FilosofischeStilte's tracks sound like you've just got dragged in to a cave where you have to [...]

Ants are invading lush Ibiza clubbing destination Ushuïa this summer as they launch a new Saturday party from 1st June . In contrast to the virgin white surroundings, clubbers are encouraged to throw on some black clobber and join the ant colony (with discount entry offered for making the effort) through the afternoon until midnight. Oh we love a good day party. Attracting the ants like a big sugary snack are a whole load of top notch DJ talents such as Reboot, Deetron, Joris Voorn, Uner, George [...]
This album is the perfect punk album for the modern hardcore fan. - By Kunal Singhal

Chicago three-piece Smith Westerns release their third album, the Chris Coady (Beach House, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TVOR) produced Soft Will , on 24th June and in preperation have unveiled the video for new single 'Varsity'. The track is a fizzing, chiming slice of echoey indie, with reverbed vocals and lush, swooping melodies. The video is equally intriguing and follows two ludicrously attractive young lovers as they, ya know, act all in love. The clip was directed by Alan Del Rio Ortiz, who has said he “ wanted to make a non narrative video clip about [...]

The 1975 are coming to the end of a series of EPs before the release of their self-titled debut album in September. So far, each of the three EPs have centered around a belting radio-ready single - The City (version 1), Chocolate, Sex - with the remaining tracks allowing the group to indulge their love of more slow-burning, ambient songwriting. It would seem that EP four - literally called IV - is no different. We've already helped premiere the re-recorded version of ' The City ', the release's radio moment, and now comes 'Haunt [...]

Katy B dropped by Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show earlier this evening to deliver her brand new single, 'What Love Is Made Of'. The track will feature on her upcoming second album, the follow up to 20112s On a Mission . The track, with its honky-tonk synths and digi-beats, strays rather too close to Calvin Harris territority for our liking - words that should never be ushered about artists with the talent and originality of Katy B. Back in March Katy told Billboard, about a new record, "A lot of stuff is getting [...]

Después de convertirse en una banda sovietica por un rato y presentarnos "Ballad of the War Machine", Midnight Juggernauts regresa con un nuevo sencillo titulado "Memorium" que será parte de su nueva producción Uncanny Valley . Enjoy.

The Neighbourhood's debut album I Love You has already landed a spot on our top albums list for 2013. For a band that came from nowhere in mid-2012, this quintet from Los Angeles have done a sufficient job of kicking up noise all around the world with their sing-along lush pop-scapes and reverb drenched rock. We had the chance to speak with the band back in November about this rise to fame and what the future might hold (listen to our interview here ). For one lucky reader out there, we are giving away an [...]

If you're going to a festival this summer, chances are Teleman will be there. Formed from the previous members of indie troubadours 'Pete and The Pirates' ( remember them? ), the London quartet caused quite a stir with their debut single 'Cristina' last year, a cheery jaunt that sat comfortably in the middle ground between Alt J and Django Django, the brilliance lying in its simplicity. Along with countless festivals in the UK and Europe, the four piece look set to support Britpop legends 'Suede' on their forthcoming european tour, which perhaps explains why Bernard Butler has produced [...]

It's been some year for Deap Vally . Breaking out out of the LA rock scene is hard enough, but doing it as effortlessly as they have, takes something a little bit special. Formed in 2011 after meeting at a needlework class, Lindsey Troy and Julie Edwards soon began making music together and have barely looked back since releasing their debut single back in the Summer of 2012. Debut appearances in the UK and Japan, and shows with heavyweights such as the Yeah Yeah Yeah's and Muse has cemented their reputation [...]
