MUSIC NEWS - Looks like we can expect a new Matchbox Twenty album this year. The band is regrouping at Rob Thomas' home this week for writing sessions. Thomas tweeted on Monday; "Getting shit together for the matchbox guys to come to start our week of writing at my house and covered in snow once again" and more recently; "Working with the matchbox guys. The greatness of Los Campesinos!, who dropped not one, but TWO spectacular albums during the course of 2008 will be hitting us with their 3rd (although they claimed the second wasn't an 'album') album next February. These guys not only have some great albums/songs, they also put on a killer live show, so you know what I'm thinking/hoping, another tour. Let's do it. So in news today, Conor Oberst will be releasing a new record in 2009 with the UK release date reportedly going to be May 4, 2009, entitled Outer South . Recorded in our very own El Paso, TX in November and December of last year, here's hoping it turns out a little better than Conor's last self-titled album, which I did not care for all that much, even though I am a gigantic Bright Eyes fan; I still listen to I'm Wide Awake ... and Cassadega quite a bit. MUSIC NEWS - Morrissey has announced his new studio album, ??? Years of Refusal ??? will be released on February, 16 2009 on the Decca/Polydor label in the UK/Europe (US release info tbd).
