One of my favorite bros, Black Matter just teamed up with Monolith to put their own spin on the late 90s rave classic Better Off Alone . Black Matter has yet to disappoint and this is my introduction to Monolith. I'll be creepin' on his soundcloud later. Alec Empire and his work with Atari Teenage Riot has been an inspiration to us since we were kids. We were excited to see that he recently remixed Salem's remake of Alice Deejay's 90s popular dance hit "Better Off Alone". Alec Empire uses more of the hook that made the original so famous and straddles the line between the most sugary of pop music and industrial witch house. Watch the Human Jukebox Pay Tribute To The Pop Hits Of The 90's On The Melodica.
In November, Salem covered Alice Deejay's most famous trance jam for their latest EP, and today we have Alec Empire's (Atari Teenage Riot) take on the churning track. In Empire's version, he sucks most of Salem's sinister tones from the mix and comes up with something fresh and vibrant. Grab the download below. Read More...

Here's a throwback that dates back long before EDM music saw any widely popularized publicity. Alice Deejay, which is in fact a group made up of multiple dutch producers (Pronti, Kalmani, DJ Jurgen and vocalist Judith Anna Pronk), produced one of the bigger dance tracks of 1999 with 'Better Off Alone'. The group's album, Who Needs Guitars Anyway , was in my mind way ahead of its time. The group experienced a large level of success in the UK and western Europe but fell back into anonymity by 2003. The beat had a level of [...]

TBMA, Zeds Dead, Celldweller, Excision, Downlink, Figure, Adventure Club, Feed Me, Helicopter Showdown, and IB. This post is equipped with sick new music to make you feel warm and fuzzy inside for this upcoming holiday season. As an epic bonus I've included the Archnemesis album, People's Radio. This album is so funky fresh. I'm very excited to let [...]

Witch-house outfit Salem get creepy with their video and cover of Alice Deejay's 1998 dance hit 'Better Off Alone,' featuring paparazzi shots of Gisele.
Salem's got a new EP called I'm Still In The Night out next week - that's album art pictured above - and today they posted a cover of Alice Deejay's famous trance jam " Better Off Alone ." Check out song's video, a found footage mashup of paparazzi hounding supermodel Gisele Bündchen, down below. Not sure how Tom Brady feels about this, but I sure do like the image of him sitting alone at a desktop and watching it and getting so into it that he starts spelling his name †∆m Br4dy or something. "There was madness in any direction, at any hour. You could strike sparks anywhere. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning." - Raoul Duke (Hunter S. Thompson) Ladies and gentleman, the premiere EDM event of the summer is upon us. Insomniac Productions brings us the Electric Daisy Carnival on June 24th, 25th, and 26th this upcoming weekend in Las Vegas. In a sense, those of us in attendance to the festival this weekend are all on a quest for the 'American [...]
Wompday in the evening so you gotta love these late night drops. The new High Rankin is absolutely amazing, followed by a little drumstep remix of "My Feelings For You," which will floor your excitement for progressive dub-house. Dillon Francis also makes an appearance this week with his fresh remix of a Christian TV song. [...]

Typically when I'll post a dubstep remix, it tends to be pretty high energy and filled with mass amount of bass. Well today I've got a remix that's on the chiller side of dubstep, chillstep if you will haha. It's still got loads of bass, but has a more smooth chill feel. Reminds me of Cudi Zone (KillGrahm dubstep remix) or Metric - Gimme Sympathy (Dubstep Remix) in the smooth dubstep feel. Turn up the bass for this one, chill out and enjoy a fresh take on what might be the first electronic song you ever [...]

My routing when driving to work during the week consists of listening to Mike and Mike in the morning. Their "East Coast" bias is never too large to get in the way of a good story, but the alternative is listening to a mediocre local show on 87.7 the Ticket . Mike and Mike brought up a point that was interesting in the case of Michael Vick. A lot of people expected Vick to be well rested after spending plenty of time in the clink. Those same people didn't expect the second coming of [...]

Editor's Note: There's really no excuse for what you're about to read and the tracks you're about to endure. But if you can't laugh at the fact that the Jonas Brothers are currently all up on Radio Free Chicago, alongside Timber Timbre and Cursive, then... Well... Personally, I laugh to keep from crying. This is what happens when I say "Of course you can make a mix for RFC, Heidi!" Brace yourselves. Okay, so being the roommate of the infamous Amber Valentine, there is never a dull moment, be it deciding to run out [...]
