"VIOLET BONES are a rock 'n' roll band from Cambridge — packing an incredible amount of passion, energy, animation and spirit into their sing-along garage-pop anthems. Their fierce DIY ethic and constant touring across the UK has earned them support slots with punk heroes New York Dolls and Ash". Great band on the verge of a debut album release, it`s nice to receive the odd promotional email concerning an artist that will be gigging somewhere near to home. Sure Los Angeles, New York or Sydney all have masses of iconic appeal but The Grinning Rat [...]

michael lux and the bad sons Three reasons to leave the bros to their Thirsty Thursday rituals and head on over to Empty Bottle tonight... 1. Chicago's own Michael Lux and the Bad Sons are human time machines. Listening to a few simple chords, the alt-rockers conjure up the ghosts of alternative legends like The Replacements and Husker Du without coming off like desperate fan boys. Lux's low, scratchy howls are effortless and well-supported by distressed guitar and snappy backbeats. The set is sure to be a [...]

The Dillinger Escape plan have released a new video for their song "Parasitic Twins" from their album Option Paralysis . The band is currently on tour with Mastodon. Watch the new video below. Read more »
Having recently launched their band at Star Rock, Chennai on Feb 4, ex- Junkyard Groove peeps Siddharth Srinivasan, Craig Maxworth and Hudstin Fernandez come together to create a new alt-rock band - The Captains of Hook . With their messy split from JYG, web 2.0 style-y, they unceremoniously bid farewell to Ameeth Thomas via FB . However, in their FB message they said, "This is not the end, but the start of something new." That 'something new' is TCoH. So you must be wondering, are they going to be an exact replica of JYG (as [...]

Ascoltando il disco d'esordio degli Are You Real? "Songs Of Innocence" (titolo [...]
"These are the words that sum up Virginia-based band, The Danvilles. They are a part of Merrifield Records, a label/musical co-op started by the band's singer/Guitarist Mike Hindert who is also the Bassist for the Bravery. The Danvilles, who all grew up together in Northern Virginia, describe their sound as a mix of Sixties Pop, Blues, Surf Rock and Old School Rock and Roll with some Rockabilly, Regga e and even a little tasteful Country thrown in for good measure. Their latest LP titled "Women", is perhaps the Bluesiest and darkest of their recordings to date, [...]

Mumbai alt rockers Blek recently announced their debut EP Hexes + Drama, And Other Reasons For Evacuation to be released on ennui.BOMB Records. As a build-up to the release of the fairly anticipated EP, the Mumbai trio are giving away one song as a free download on NH7. 'Monkey Song' is a bonus track on their EP. Vocalist Rishi Bradoo told us previously that they're trying to change the perception of the band to play more dance-y music that is grunge-inclined with punk influences. 'Monkey Song' is definitely a head-wagging-hand-in-pocket-sh oe-shuffler with energetic drums, incessant guitars, a playful bassline [...]

In First Impression, the Earbuddy staff writers listen to a new song and give their thoughts on whether it's worth your time. This week we're checking out the first single from Jack White's upcoming solo debut 'Blunderbuss' -- "Love Interruption". The song under review: First Impression: NK: Digging this new single a lot. It's interesting how White [...]

We've blogged about Real Fur before ( here ) so let's skip the bio. But what we didn't do was talk about The Fool, an excellently angular, alt-rock number full of lovely jangles. So now we are. Because it's great. [There is a video that cannot be displayed in this feed. Visit the blog entry to see the video.]
Alt rockers Nada Surf have released a video for the first single, "When I Was Young", from their new album The Stars Are Indifferent To Astronomy currently available. While I was indifferent on the album as a whole, I can't deny that there is some catchiness to "When I Was Young". Watch the video below. Read more »

Moody, dense and textured, AJA is an exploration of physical and emotional space and the real a nd imaginary divisions within it. The decision to interpret the album in full was made during a period in which the band struggled to comple te its self-titled sophomore record. With no label and mixing stalled, The Darcys were unable to track new material, instead embracing the challenge of reshaping the collective favorite and presenting it to the world as a dark, but bold declaration of self-sufficiency. "We did it because we could," the band's [...]

We're big fans of the East London four piece band the Trailer Trash Tracys and their LP ' Ester ' is a worthy buy . Dummy magazine prised this mix out of them and generated this post-LP release interview . Dummy Mix 105 // Trailer Trash Tracys by DummyMag Moderne Vers l'Est Strawberry Switchblade Since [...]

Persino alcuni urlacci qua e là, nell'iniziale "Gotta Go" ad esempio. Si prosegue speditissimi [...]

It's difficult to pin Breton down. As far as pigeonholing them to one particular genre is concerned there's no hope, from house beats to guitar riffs, they're about as eclectic as it gets. Equally challenging however is putting your finger on exactly what it is that makes them so alluring, somehow it all just works. As if the music wasn't enough Breton or BretonLABS as the collective tends to be termed, indulge in visuals just as much as the they do audio, their live shows as memorable for the backdrop of self-shot videos [...]

Diamond Rugs, the supergroup collaboration between John McCauley (Deer Tick), Robbie Crowell (Deer Tick), Ian Saint Pé (The Black Lips), Steve Berlin (Los Lobos), Hardy Morris (Dead Confederate) and Bryan Dufresne (Six Finger Satellite), have released a new single "Gimme A Beer" for their upcoming self-titled album out April 24th via Partisan Records. Download the new track below. Read more »
Glasgow instrumental band Errors are known for...well, their instrumental performances. On their third album Have Some Faith In Magic out January 31st via Rock Action Records, the band breaks away from that staple by adding *shock* vocals to some of the songs. To be fair, it's merely chanting, but it's an interesting change for the band. Watch their new video for "Pleasure Palaces" below to hear the added chants. Read more »
The Girobabies are under no illusions when it comes to platinum selling records and rockstar status, their regional bluntness and utter satisfaction in digging lyrical mischief towards a cracked social system would never allow such a monstrous thought - although with a wry smile and a Glaswegian wink, they`d probably die trying. The album `Bus Stop Apocalypse` is a mad-eyed collective finding themselves through a cross section of musical influences and sheer bloody mindlessness encapsulated by a raised middle finger - A mix mash of suburban genres and glorious subcultures, the lyrical content is as calming as a Government health warning [...]

Photo Credit Taj Robinson "Situation, the debut EP from San Francisco's own Future Twin is out January 31st. The band's first studio album, this will be a coveted release of just 200 cassettes with artwork by Yukako Ezoe. Tapes will be digitally and nationally distributed throughout independent music stores". The lead track `Situation` has an intro with a gorgeous atmospheric surf twang, these dizzy heights are only topped by a vocal packed full of female fire and physical desire. An E.P. that is oddly affecting and effortlessly propulsive. "Future [...]
