![Stars – Dead Hearts [Music Video]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3804374_lg.jpg)
It's almost been a year since the release of Star's The Five Ghosts . Finally the music video for Dead Hearts has been released. Dead Hearts which is in my opinion the best track on the album. Dead Hearts is such a haunting slow mellow pop ballad. Sad that the members aren't featured in the video. But at least there is references to hearts. Have a look at the video. Here is the Daytrotter session version of [...]
![[Introducing] – Amycanbe](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3539486_lg.jpg)
Tweet Until recently I could count the number of modern Italian bands I knew on one finger - that would be Lacuna Coil, which is to say I didn't need any fingers whatsoever to tally up the number of Italian bands I liked. So I wasn't sure what to expect when Amycanbe arrived in the inbox. I was impressed. Started in 2002, their debut album "Being A Grown-Up Sure Is Complicated" got a UK release back in 2007, accompanied by touring and [...]
Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News Norman Wong Stars may have played one of the biggest shows of their career at Toronto's Yonge-Dundas Square for NXNE on Friday (June 17), but they proved just a day later that they still have a soft-spot for their most dedicated fans, as they took the stage at the much cozier confines of the city's Edward Day Gallery on Queen Street West during the day on Saturday. [...]
Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , Exclusive , Q + A Yasmin Siddiqui Things have been quiet on the Stars front since the Canadian swoon-popsters released their fifth album, 'The Five Ghosts' -- just long-listed yesterday (June 16) for the Polaris Prize -- last summer. But the quintet has been anything but idle in that time: singer-guitarist Amy Millan and bassist Evan Cranley welcomed their [...]
Filed under: News , Holy Hell WireImage | The Canadian Press, Ryan Remiorz The destruction and injuries incurred from Wednesday evening's riots in Vancouver following Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final drew attention on a national and international level. And several musicians -- some in the city during the horrific events and others reading about what happened -- took to their Twitter accounts to voice their thoughts, including King of Leon , Black Lips and Chilly Gonzales [...]

Photo of Saydi by me... Hello again & a happy friday to ya! For today's mixtape, we are going to do something a wee-bit different. Instead of bring you something new, I wanted to bring back something from last year. You see, in a few short tiny little days, my oldest bird is turning 18, a genuine, pasteurized, and certified adult. Nuts. I know it's a cliche to "awww, they grow up so fast!", but let me tell ya, my friends, they do. Seems like just yesterday she was that tiny little [...]
Filed under: News , Exclusive , New Releases Arts & Crafts While dream-popsters Stars take a little break (in part thanks to the recent birth of Amy Millan and Evan Cranley's first child), frontman Torquil Campbell has been anything but idle, releasing not just one, but two albums in recent months. The loquacious vocalist (who readily chatters away about everything from pop to politics) has been on a creative roll, [...]
Filed under: News Getty Images (2) | YouTube Last night (May 2), Canadians watched the results of the country's federal election with the Conservatives achieving a majority government. An array of Canadian acts have weighed in on the outcome, some offering more pointed barbs than others: "When you are forced to choose between foolish men, sometimes you must believe in the power of the MAGICAL MOUSTACHE," Broken Social Scene singer Kevin Drew [...]
If you caught Emily Haines and Jimmy Shaw introducing Broken Social Scene at last Sunday night's Juno Awards, you might have caught the dedication of their performance of "World Sick" to one Delphine Cranley, the little bundle of joy born to Amy Millan and Evan Cranley of Stars last week. Life as parents will certainly be bringing about some changes for both Millan and Cranley, and I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate them, and use the birth of their daughter as a very blatant and totally insensitive way to segue into a [...]

Filed under: News , Video , Exclusive , New Music Norman Wong Canadian indie-popsters Stars ' newest album may just be peering into the not-so-distant future of mankind. 'The Five Ghosts,' the band's fifth full-length album, deals with the afterlife and the evolution of the human condition, and their new video for 'Changes' takes that examination even further. Directed by Jaron Albertin, the clip begins with a man giving a speech about [...]
To get over the schmaltzy nature of Valentine's Day yesterday here is our anti V-day declaration in the spirit of past posts on this site. Don't forget we are still in the running for an IPhone 4 giveaway so get your entries in here. Stars - 'Your Ex-Lover Is Dead' In my mind this track is about [...]

![[Listen/Download] Amy Millan- Skinny Boy](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3028082_lg.jpg)
by teepoo Today I'm about travelling a little backwards. Here's an oldie from Amy Millan, whom you all know as the vocalist from Stars. This track is from her 2006 solo album Honey from the Tombs . The song is as perfectly dark as you expect it to be. Lovely, just as Stars songs usually are. Amy Millan- Skinny Boy MYSPACE | OFFICIAL WEBSITE

I just don't know what to expect anymore. We spend so much time interviewing new and unheard of bands. Those bands are so grateful, that they'll spend hours dissecting the inner workings of their music without batting an eyelash. It's the older, established bands that I fear. They're frequently glib, reciting the same pat answers that they've spewed hundreds of times before. So when I got an opportunity to interview Amy Millan, to discuss her work with Stars, Broken Social Scene and her solo career, I anticipated the worst. Instead, I got thoughtful answers [...]

'Growing & Glow' may just be the best song on Halves album It Goes, It Goes (Forever & Ever) as it best demonstrates the band's ability to push and pull between light and dark. Also, Amy Millan from Broken Social Scene guests on it - that's pretty cool right? Ahem. It Goes, It Goes (Forever & Ever) has been receiving great reviews lately. It's out this Friday on CD and gatefold vinyl and the band launch the album in The Workman's Club [...]
Photography by Amelia [well, actually by my friend Laura, 'cause that's me in the picture, but it was on my phone so I'm taking credit] This is a mixtape about a triangle. A Troublesome Trio, Three Amigos. Side one is from a Brokenhearted Boy's perspective, about the girl who broke his heart. Side two is from a Gloomy Girl's perspective, who happens to love Brokenhearted Boy. The missing side of the triangle is the Other Girl, the friend to both who started causing all the trouble. So since Brokenhearted Boy is sad about the Other Girl and Gloomy [...]

photo by Dominick Mastrangelo Last night I finally had the pleasure of seeing Stars live, and not only that, I saw them in an intimate venue in Brooklyn. Tickets went on sale the day before the show and sold out pretty quickly so I was quite pleased to have snagged a couple. Show was advertised as being at 8pm, at which time I arrived only to find out doors were not opened yet. By the time we made our way inside it was already 8:30pm and the [...]
