To even to so much as suggest Animal Collective's Centipede Hz LP of yesteryear was patchy would be at best a rich compliment, for truth be known it was by and large rather more miss than hit . We suggested then that it was one which needed more time to develop and grow on you tumorously, for it initially seemed ridden with larval earworms (earcentipedes, perhaps) in need of further fertilisation. Though as Brian DeGraw of albeit all too modest Gang Gang Dance fame tonks in with a viciously compelling [...]
I fondly look back upon the gloopy, expressively organic electronica of earlier AnCo recordings – that which sticks it all together. The Feels , and the Strawberry Jam of their discography and in turn everything external to it – everything these albums have subsequently inspired. Whether that be BRAIDS, or the exhilarating lifework of Canarian Pablo Díaz-Reixa or whoever else, its impact is always extraordinarily immediate. And so we come to London-based, though Lecce-born Antonio Elia Forte, who masquerades musically as Echopark . And perhaps rather inevitably, we find ourselves lost in the perfectly woozy imperfections of Teleportation. A dew-laced soundscape [...]
It's been quite some while already that art-pop daydreamer Airick Woodhead has been hanging around in the Doldrums of blog culture, which automatically creates a dangerous amount of anticipation around this, his début full-length. For his is a name of quiet notoriety already: he's been around the world a couple times touring his scattily collated bits and pieces; done the prerequisite Grimes collaboration. And Lesser Evil even appears to neatly encapsulate both a learned outlook on modern-day electronica, and indeed the sonic identity of his native Montréal. Though why, therefore, does it never quite work as one? [...]
We could, even at this early juncture, veer off on a whimsically prolix tangent as to how bloody freezing the streets of EC2 are tonight. It's often our wont anyway, right? Though this is one on which it feels only meet and right to break with convention, and converge upon a more concentrated reflection of what is, as far as our more current recollections stretch, one of those most cohesively inspiring evenings. Up first is William Doyle, aka East India Youth , aka the first artist ever to have been signed to the Quietus Phonographic Corporation. If [...]
How many end of year LP lists have you already trawled thus far this still quite active 2012? Too many, is most likely the answer there. Though one omitted by many, if not most this way came just last month, unleashed from Animal Collective's Paw Tracks in the amorphous form of Prince Rama's Top 10 Hits Of The End Of The World . A fairly radical (to be read rad ) conceptualisation of a post-apocalypse pop chart on which Brooklyn-based sisters Taraka and Nimai Larson set about channelling [...]

Like, what the fuck are these guys doing on the everyday ? Step inside... Centipede Hz out Sept. 4th. Directed by Danny Perez. Thank you 2 We All Want Some1 .

I remember last Halloween , all I wanted 2 do was be the ex-popular band Justice. I think in 2k9, I will still want to be a relevant band, but I'm not sure who is gonna 'be on top' then. 2k9 has been a really weird year. Should I be Animal Collective 4 Halloween? Do u think a costume is successful if you have 2 write lyrics to 1 of their popular songs and tape them 2 ur back? (miss u Deakin) [...]
