The xx's Coexist has to be one of the most anticipated records of the year. Having just dropped its first single, 'Angels', you can see why. A gorgeous, lo-fi ballad that boths serves as a reintroduction and bold statement, it is quite beautiful really. It's hard to fault. Coexist will be released on 10th September, just over three years since their 2009 debut masterpiece cast them as one of the most innovative and exciting bands of recent years. Today, The xx have made a triumphant return with their new single, "Angels". The song's gorgeous, minimalist production achieves musical perfection, as crumbled beats creep in over bare-bone guitars, reminding us that it's been far too long since we heard anything from the much-praised London trio. Their sophomore record, Coexist , will be out September 11th via Young Turks .
