UR1 Music Festival will take over Miami's Bayfront Park from December 8-9th amidst the world renown Art Basel Miami Beach art show. As previously reported , Kanye West and Lou Reed will headline, and now the festival has announced its next round of additions, which include: Animal Collective, Flying Lotus, Jane's Addiction, Dead Can Dance, Zola Jesus, Tanlines, Peter Murphy, Holy Ghost!, Wild Nothing, and Glass Candy. With a pop-infected take on experimental noise, Animal Collective brought its whimsical, wall-of-sound to the Hollywood Bowl. Centipede HZ replaces much of the layered, carefully crafted production from 20092s Merriweather Post Pavillion with a grungier, guitar driven aesthetic. As a live act, the quartet mixed it's aural delivery with a unique stage setup reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland. LA's own, Flying Lotus, brought an infectious, high energy set of jazzy electronics to the opening set wearing a huge smile making sure the rest of the crowd followed suit. Photos by Justin [...]

Animal Collective have moved up from playing the Wiltern to Hollywood Bowl in support of their latest album Centipede Hz . It was an assault of hallucinogenic visuals and sounds with the Hollywood Bowl providing the perfect setting for a gorgeous night. Flying Lotus took his set to the next level as he sandwiched in between two projection screens for an array of mind blowing projections that augmented his brain twisting live set while dropping in some Radiohead and Beastie Boys. Animal Collective fans ought to cancel their Sunday night plans for the next couple of weeks and tune into the group's radio show, appropriately titled Animal Collective Radio. The weekly five hour program is scheduled to run every Sunday night from 9 P.M. to 2 A.M. beginning this Sunday and going until August 19 and is said to include guest appearances from Haunted Graffiti and Sublime Frequencies.
