On May 28th, Animal Collective will let loose a new EP of remixes titled Monkey Been To Burn Town . Available digitally and on 123 vinyl via Domino Records, the four-track collection features reworks of "Monkey Riches" and "New Town Burnout", both taken from the band's excellent 2012 record, Centipede Hz . On hand to offer their remix magic are Seattle hip hop duo Shabazz Palaces, Gang Gang Dance's Brian DeGraw, New York dance producers Teengirl Fantasy, and Chicago producer Traxman. Earlier this week, Animal Collective was forced to postpone the remainder of their U.S. tour with Dan Deacon due to frontman Avey Tare's severe case of strep throat. They've now rescheduled those dates for July, September and October. Tickets for the postponed shows will be honored. "Due to band illness," Animal Collective have been forced to postpone five dates of their ongoing U.S. tour with Dan Deacon. Last Saturday night's show in Toronto, tonight's show in Cleveland, and upcoming dates in Covington, KY; Nashville, TN; and Royal Oak, MI have been rescheduled for mid-July. I had a great time at the Governors Ball last year. With the 2013 lineup announcement, it seems like the festival is growing a lot bigger. Not only is there another day added (June 7,8,9) but the quality and size of the artists particiapting this year seem to be on an all-around grander scale. Animal Collective has scheduled North American tour dates behind their new LP, Centipede HZ , due out September 4th via Domino Records. The trek kicks off September 18th in Seattle, and includes a stop at Columbia, Maryland's Merriweather Post Pavilion, which of course inspired the title of their last album.
