Last night's episode of The Simpsons didn't feature guest voice-acting from any big indie celebs or anything, but it did open and close with montages set to a couple of songs that may sound familiar. Longtime Animal Collective visual-art compatriot Danny Perez has set a series of his mushroom-clouded, swirling video trip-outs to Panda Bear's Tomboy standout " You Can Count On Me ." Avey Tare's out there touring his solo record Down There ; I recently caught his stop at Brooklyn's Knitting Factory with Black Dice's Eric Copeland opening and both of them backed up by a Yoda-masked skeleton wearing a sweet scarf. We quite enjoyed Animal Collective 's man Avey Tare and his solo release Down There when it dropped in late 2012. Over a year later though, the good folk over at 130BPM now point towards some footage of Avey performing new material. Though the show happened last year , AnCo just released a short video of their collaborative multimedia performance with artist Danny Perez that took place at NYC's Guggenheim Museum. Last March, Animal Collective joined forces with visual artist Danny Perez for a new art piece called Transverse Temporal Gyrus at New York City's Guggenheim Museum. The three-hour installation saw the Guggenheim transformed into "a kinetic, psychedelic environment", complete with new Animal Collective music (blasted through a 36-channel speaker), projections, costumes, and props. Now, with help from filmmaker Bobby Boothe, Animal Collective is sharing a six-minute short film that documents the project  and includes six minutes of previously unreleased music (via  Pitchfork ). Panda Bear's Tomboy is a grower. We loved it when it came out, and it's still growing on us. (Tempted to say its "growing with us".) One of the tracks that is growing a bit quicker than the others is the incredible "Alsatian Darn", so naturally I won't miss an opportunity to share it.
