Ah, Bromley. A fabulous place, home to the gorgeous Glades shopping centre and, um, some other stuff. Yep. Good. It's wicked, basically, and you really ought to consider it for this year's staycation. And now, as if the above wasn't acclaim enough, the London satellite town cultural hotpot can count the Van Susans among its attractions. These lads ( two Ollys and three Dullaways ), tipped for great things by Londonist , make a soaring kind of guitar-driven indie, the sort of plaintive, sincere kind you've heard plenty of times before and will hear plenty of times [...]
So I promised ya'll I'd be posting more Trance and with Ultra creeping up, I couldn't of picked a better time. I decided Tuesdays was a good day since everyone comes to the reality that the week has truly begun. And from my experience, there ain't no better way to lift your spirits than with Epic Trance!! So here's a little sprinkling of uplifting Trance to keep you in celestial spirits. And don't forget to SUPER SAIYAN THAT BITCH! [...]
Download: Truth Turner "The Whole Truth" Buzzmaking emcee and singer Truth Turner has joined forces with The DJBooth to bring fans his latest street album, The Whole Truth. The project features 11 original tracks from the Southern up-and-comer, including previously-featured, reader-approved leaks "Heater" and "Used To." Joining Turner on the guest tip throughout The Whole Truth are CyHi Da Prynce and Translee. All production comes courtesy of Anthem & ATX.
Hidden Shoal Recordings is excited to announce the release of ' Supply Chins ', the second single from Perth's widescreen indie-rock craftsmen Umpire , taken from their brilliant 2011 debut album Now We're Active . On an album crammed to breaking point with hooks, 'Supply Chins' has perhaps the catchiest hooks of all. Alternating between a massive fist-pumping chorus and reflective verses, the song builds towards a breathtaking climax punctuated by sumptuous horns, weaving vocals and driving guitars. This is indie-rock at its most unashamedly anthemic. Umpire combine sprawling indie-rock sounds [...]
'Home' by M.A.N.D.Y vs. Bookashade has been put through the remix mill and the results are explosive. Tim Green, Jona and Monaque have all added superb interpretations to it – but my personal fave is the Tim Green mix. London-based Tim Green has been an ever-present name in Tech / Deep House in recent years, but a string of impressive releases in 2011 has catapulted him to the upper echelons of the scene. Looking forward to what 2012 has in store… Home Remixes Part 1. is out now. You can buy it here , or [...]
I just stumbled upon VIRGINS , and I think you'll be impressed with not only their music, but their very unique backstory. The duo, which consists of Saman Khoujinian and Gabriel Anderson, embarked on a "bike tour", to record their first record, RGB . This basically had them strapping their instruments on their bikes, as they would play shows every night, and travel around the country during the day. It shows how much dedication these guys had of getting their music out there in a different environemnt. I have to say it must have to paid off, as [...]
Anthm (previously known as Anthem) seems to be at an inflection point of his young career. Along with a recent name change (apparently due to paperwork; luckily he'll be easier to find on Google now), Anthem's online presence continues to blossom and he recently twice hit the #1 track on the Hype Machine's Twitter chart beating out much more entrenched artists like Avicii. Musically he also has been experimenting with different styles, subjects, and has been getting away from the "mold" which he fit so well in the tracks up to now. Before if I was listening to a new [...]
Anthem's been on a roll lately, and we've got another new track for you from Anthem . This one is titled "Inception." Once again, he samples a number of artists, including The Firm and Biz Markie, and shows off his skills, which range from creating catchy flows to spitting on a more technical level. The more Anthem releases, the better he sounds. Be prepared for his forthcoming Joy & Pain EP. Anthem-Inception by AMGEsquires
Anthem is back with a new track to whet the appetites of those who are waiting for the release of his upcoming EP, Joy & Pain . "Ugly" sounds a little different from " Survival Of The Fittest " with a more laid back vibe and a carefree weekend feel. It doesn't hurt that his rhymes are getting better each time we hear from him. Anthem-Ugly
It takes me a long time to fall in love with an entire album, which is why now that I've done it again I have to share. Oh My God Charlie Darwin is a world unto itself, a low tempo folk epic released in 2009. The songs range from meditative to defiant, and use everything from acoustic guitars to a World War II era church organ. Honestly, I am still catching up with these guys, they have a new album out but all I seem to be able to do is listen to this one over [...]
The Roundhouse is comfortably full for Bella Union darlings The Low Anthem 's biggest show to date. And from the moment the band steps on stage, it's clear what the audience lacks in quantity they certainly make up for in quality. Quiet, bordering on reverential, tonight's gig is a lovely example of when an audience loves a band, and the band loves them right back. The Low Anthem's serene, delicate indie country folk creates that exact atmosphere for the evening – a low-key affair with no bells and whistles. At times, this [...]
Winnie sponsors Gigamesh this Friday November 18th at Anthem / Post Modern. Gigamesh is a personal fave and has garnered attention for his internet released remixes and lately for his own material. He has provided some big remixes of some of the top songs over the last few years. I'm still waiting for a definitive Lana Del Rey remix and actually hope he is working on one. #weneedyou Winnie have guestlist for you. The Low Anthem are a staple favourite here at MM and their stunning performance at last year's End of the Road Festival to a rapt and enthralled crowd on the lovely Garden Stage will remain one of our favourite live shows ever. This year they have already given us the excellent Smart Flesh (an album that appears amongst our Best of the Year lists in the left column - scroll down!) and now they're giving away their wonderful 2007 release What The Crow Brings completely free via Noisetrade. It is a beautifully constructed [...]

Cubic Zirconia - "Take Me High (Bart B More remix)"
Cubic Zirconia - "Take Me High (Bart B More remix)" The gods Cubic Zirconia loved the Bart B More remix of their anthem "Take Me High" so much, they decided to go ahead and make a video for it, with bells, whistles, lasers, strobes, emotion, sweat, and prayer. Directed, edited and produced by lead vocalist Tiombe Lockhart , the trio blaze it out and blast the doors off their hinges. We love this—and them—so much. Godspeed!
