The season finale of Saturday Night Live was jam packed with the music of the Rolling Stones. Which makes sense considering that Mick Jagger was the host and musical guest. But with the help of Arcade Fire, Jeff Beck and Foo Fighters (who had just finished headlining Bamboozle three hours before their appearance), the musical portions of the show were by far the most memorable. Down below you can check out Jagger performing "The Last Time" with Arcade Fire; "19th Nervous Breakdown" and "It's Only Rock n' Roll" with the Foos and a [...]
Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger was the host and musical guest of last night's Saturday Night Live season finale. First up was Mick leading Arcade Fire, with The Strokes' the Strokes’ Nikolai Fraiture on bass, through the Stones' 1965 hit The Last Time... Next, Mick fronted the Foo Fighters on 19th Nervous Breakdown > It’s Only Rock ‘N Roll (But I Like It) From there, Mick teamed up with Jeff Beck for Tea Party... Finally, [...]

Saturday Night Live host and musical guest Mick Jagger got a hand from Arcade Fire, Foo Fighters, Jeff Beck, and the Strokes' Nikolai Fraiture when he performed on the show's 37th season finale last night. Arcade Fire (with Nikolai) backed the Rolling Stone on "The Last Time," and returned later with a medley of "She's A Rainbow" and "Ruby Tuesday" for the graduation-themed Kristen Wiig farewell (yep, it was her last episode). Mick also played "19th Nervous Breakdown" and "It's Only Rock 'N Roll (But I Like It)" with the Foos, and the new politically-themed "Tea Party" with Jeff [...]

Few would argue that these are the glory days of Saturday Night Live . But if there's one thing the late-night staple has been solid at as of late, it's their musical guest bookings. And to cap it all off, last night's season finale boasted the biggest performance of 'em all when Mick [...]

Well here we are again. The time when the old, white men of the recording industry decide to bestow their blessings on artists who they feel should get a Grammy award while the rest of us pull out our hair because the real talents didn't get any recognition. We should first be proud, however, that Arcade Fire are up for Album of the Year with The Suburbs and Florence + The Machine and Mumford & Sons are up for Best New Artist. It's talent that definitely deserves recognition as well as the actual [...]

Going down, down, down As we discovered this week, there's more than one way to go down. Watch Listen Love. (No commas) *Vampire Weekend is now covering Bruce Springsteen's classic "I'm Going Down" from Born in the U.S.A. All the way to the Garden State! Maybe we will see VW next time at the Jersey Shore, whence we sent our own Greetings from Asbury Park on Sunday. *Too bad this duo beat them to the punch. [...]
