![Best of 2012: Remixes [Top 12]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4692200_lg.jpg)
Last year was the first time that I did a "Best of" Remixes. So why not do it again this year. I am a sucker for songs being remixed and probably giving a bit of life to. You may agree or disagree on this list. Besides it might make you dance to it. So here it is my Top 12 Remixes of 2012. 1. Florence + The Machine - Spectrum (Say My Name) [Calvin Harris Remix] [...]
There are thousands of popular artists out there today making new singles all the time. With the increase in bedroom producers, though, the ability to simply download a whole studio that you can use right on your lap has made original songs more scarce. Now it seems that you're finding tens of thousands of remixes by artists with more and more ludicrous names, leaving you wondering, "Viking Sword Bro- what?" This weekly segment will bring you the popular remixes and the never heard of "Viking Sword Brothers" remixes of a (common) artist's singles. From all these bedroom producers we are [...]

It really feels like disco has died. The tragic news of Donna Summers last week coupled with the latest passing of Robin Gibb has solidified the final straw that disco is dead. Many people are quick to pass judgement on a genre of music that blended dance, soul and a lifestyle that many tried to emulate during a time that was filled with unemployment, war and wait a minute, doesn't seem like much as changed in the last couple of decades. SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER FOR LIFE! Mick Jagger breathed some new life into SNL as [...]

Arcade Fire 's "Sprawl II" is one of those songs that's capable of elevating your mood. Something about the serenity of Régine's voice. Or maybe those soothing instruments. Whatever the reason, "Sprawl II" is one of those go-to songs when you're having a less than stellar day. But just when you think that this song can't make you any happier, Soulwax comes into the picture and flips "Sprawl II" on its head. Adding some funk to the original and giving it an upbeat twist, this remix eerily looks back into time in some strange way, because this is [...]

It's that time of the week again, when I share a few of my favourite remixes from the last few days. B-Ju takes Breezeblocks , one of my favourites tracks from the upcoming Alt-J record, and strips it back into dramatic tribal delight. And here's Soulwax doing their thumping beats and electro-squelch on the already catchy as fuck Gabriel from Hot Chip's Joe Goddard featuring Valentina. And as we're talking about Soulwax, here's the official stream of their remix of [...]

Here's the real deal. No more snippets and radio rips or homemade edits. You can now stream the full version of Soulwax's awesome remix for Arcade Fire's "Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)". There is no official release date yet. In case you missed it, check out the third and final version of their live “Under The Covers" show here .

This is soooooo sick, Soulwax takes the original to new ground by backing it with a pulsating sexy beat with Disco soul. Arcade Fire - Sprawl II (Soulwax Remix)

The weekend is here again, so here are a handful of my favourite remixes from the last seven days: The Magician puts his thumping disco tricks to work on Cochon Ville from the ever-cool Sebastien Tellier Draper gives Strangers ' Shine On some electronic attitude - this is a perfect summer jam. Soulwax have just dropped Under The Covers Vol.3 , and here's their synthetic retake of Arcade Fire 's Sprawl II [...]

Top of the morning. With craziness of SXSW nearly a week behind us, its feels good to be home... and although I pride myself on my party prowess- I think it will take weeks to fully recover from that madness. 51 shows in four days... that has to be a record for an individual party. In the mean time (back in reality), I'm supplementing my diet with extreme amounts of caffeine and sugar. If Im diagnosed with diabetes in a week, we'll certainly know why. Its only thursday, but with the combo of caffeine and the sweet tuneage below, a [...]

If you haven't listened to the latest Radio Soulwax episode 'Under The Covers Vol. 32 - then you're missing out. Not only is it amazing, but there's a new remix from Soulwax of Arcade Fire's track 'Sprawl II'. There's no details on a release, yet, but hopefully it will be soon as this languid, analog gem has just shot straight up our wish-list.

Last night, Zane Lowe debuted a brand new remix of an Arcade Fire track from Soulwax . Now, when you love one band and you like another the results by logic should be mind blowing, right? Casing point give the aforementioned Soulwax remix of Arcade Fire's The Suburbs featuring track, "Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)" below. Soulwax have warped the track whilst keeping the already highly lovable track's roots in tact. A wonderful way to spend 6 minutes of your Tuesday morning. Next month for Record Store Day, Arcade Fire will release some very limited [...]

A beautiful and exciting new fun track by talented Belgium group Soulwax. Taking in the hazy 'Sprawl II' from Arcade Fire's The Surburs , Soulwax creates a disco dance tune that is much digestible than its predecessor. Unfortunately for now this is just a radio rip but we really can't wait to enjoy the untampered melodic outro of the song. New reworking ready for your listening pleasure.

Arcade Fire's "Sprawl II" already boasted a disco-ey vibe, but Belgian group Soulwax doubled-down on it with an especially vibrant remix. The result sounds like the infectious lovechild of Blondie and Devo. Check it out below. - Fr. Jones
I remember the first time I heard Soulwax's remix of The Rolling Stones' "You Can't Always Get What Yo Want." It was during a particularly fuzzy DJ set at SXSW 2008, and I distinctly remember the palpable excited energy in the room when people realized just who's voice it was that these intensifying synth planes and percolating arpeggios were twisting and swirling around. I'm sure that same energy can be felt on the Belgian duo's latest official remix. Continue reading: Arcade Fire x Soulwax - "Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)" [...]
