SXSW has come and gone again. It's speculated over 200,000 people littered the streets of Austin for the music lover's paradise, but I remember by Saturday morning, my liver had all but gone out on me and my feet begged me to not leave the hotel. For those of you that braved all week, we salute you. Some of the more memorable items that I caught wind of is Bruce Springsteen bringing the kitchen sink on stage to cover Woody Guthrie's classic, "This Is Your Land." The performance included, but not limited to, Tom Morello, Eric [...]
Yesterday, the Boss came to town. Bruce Springsteen delivered his SXSW Keynote Address in the afternoon, and in the evening, he and his E Street Band played their much-touted SXSW show. I didn't go, but I talked to a bunch of people who did, and nobody had anything bad to say about it. As luck would have it, the show took place on Woody Guthrie's birthday, and Springsteen marked the occasion by covering "This Land Is Your Land" and bringing along an all-star crew of People Springsteen Likes: Arcade Fire, Tom Morello, the Animals' Eric Burdon, Alejandro Escovedo, Joe Ely, [...]

After over two hours of Bruce and his boys at SXSW, the set closed with this: a cover of Woody Guthrie's "This Land Is Your Land" with special guests Arcade Fire, Tom Morello, the Low Anthem, and others. It looks like a heartwarming performance that makes you want to drink a cheap beer, pump a fist, hug somebody, then go buy some land and fix up a broken truck. Woo! 12 THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT ARCADE FIRE
Bruce Springsteen loves performing other artists songs. After covering LMFAO's "Sexy and I Know It" with Neil Young in full 802s Bruce getup, Springsteen ––along with help from key Arcade Fire members, Tom Morello , the Low Anthem , among others––performed a cover of Woody Guthrie's classic, "This Is Your Land," at this year's SXSW. Arcade Fire are back in the form of brand new track that features on the soundtrack to the forthcoming blockbuster Hunger Games. It's a slow, almost industrial slow-burning accompanied by wails of feedback and stuttering electronic drums. Quite a depeartue then. Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler said this of the song: “I tried to put myself in the headspace of how excited I’d be if this film was coming out when I was 15. I still remember hearing Radiohead’s “Exit Music (for a Film)” in Romeo + Juliet [...]
Filed under: News , Video , Exclusive Courtesy of Secretly Canadian Clavicyclette. Say it three times fast if you can. Most folks might get a little tongue tied but Montreal singer and multi-instrumentalist Little Scream has it down pat after using the fantastical piano-bicycle in her new video for 'Boatman (Live With The Clavicyclette).' "My friend Ian had come across the clavicyclette, made by a great piano man in Montreal named Spike [...]
Admittedly, I haven't been paying much attention to Arcade Fire for a long time, because last time I listened to them in 2006, the only reasonable song of theirs was "Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)." Yet, even that song is kind of boring. Not into the whole "Modest Mouse" pitchy voice thing either. In 2006 when "Tunnels" was released, we knew two people who talked about how awesome the band was. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, always, but those same two people also enjoyed bands like Rascal Flatts, Pete Yorn and Lifehouse, which pretty much speaks for itself. [...]
Questo post si dovrebbe scrivere da sé. In automatico.

This past weekend, another performance of Arcade Fire appearing on Austin City Limits was broadcast. The entire set is streaming at the PBS website . You can watch it below.

The shitstorm from last night's SNL performance by overnight blog/hype/interwebs sensation, Lana Del Rey, was heard/seen all over the Twitters last night. Who says money can't buy you fame/press coverage and a slot on the musical stage over at SNL after being on the scene for less than a year. Many other artists more worthy have never graced the Saturday Night stage that have been around much longer and to add insult to injury, LDR's proper album has yet to be released. Sigh. It's funny what happens when you get a little collagen injected and [...]
