Who knows why, but The National figured this would be a good week to dominate the headlines. Following the debut of two new songs and an on-stage collaboration with Justin Vernon , the Brooklyn-based indie rock stalwarts were back at it on Friday night. Their seventh to last scheduled tour date, and the final one not in New York City, the band was in Win Butler's stomping grounds, aka Montreal, and brought out the Arcade Fire frontman during "Start A War". You can catch the live footage below. Arcade Fire's Richard [...]

Bridge School Benefit 25th Anniversary Covers Round-Up featuring Neil Young, Arcade Fire, Beck, Mumford & Sons, Eddie Vedder, and more.
A preview of great shows in San Francisco this week...(with videos and shit)...

The annual benefit for The Bridge School took place over the weekend and Neil Young was there for the 25th year to help raise funds for children with special needs. Young joined Arcade Fire during their set for a cover of his old jam "Helpless". I've never been a huge fan of Neil Young or his music, so this doesn't do too much for me unfortunately.

Neil Young & Arcade Fire - Helpless Mostly Junk Food

Arcade Fire performed at Neil Young's Bridge School Benefit Concert last night and as usual, they delivered a fantastic set, covering songs from all three of their albums. They are one of those few and rare bands that sound perhaps even better live than on record, combining a stage presence with what seems to be a genuine excitement to be performing. The setlist is as follows: 1:24 The Suburbs 7:31 Empty Room 12:16 Month of May 15:50 Rebellion (Lies) 21:51 Intervention 26:59 Helpless (with Neil Young) [Crosby Stills Nash & Young [...]

Watch Anna Rose's mysterious new video for her cover of Arcade Fire's 'My Body Is a Cage.'

Anna Rose continues to astound us with her gorgeous voice. Here she is with an emotional video for her cover of Arcade Fire's "My Body Is a Cage": We hope to hear more from this lovely songbird soon, but for now, we'll content ourselves by listening to this beauty on repeat. Follow Anna Rose on Twitter and Facebook .

I see that this was actually posted in late 2010, but it's the first I am hearing and seeing it. Alex Greenwald covers the Arcade Fire song "We Used To Wait" on a mandolin and it's perfect. I miss these random little videos and covers that he used to film with his Phantom Planet peoples. Too good not to share. Enjoy.

It's been a while since we checked in with Christopher O'Riley, the pianist known for his majestic renditions of Radiohead and Elliott Smith songs. But now, O'Riley returns with cellist collaborator Matt Haimovitz for Shuffle.Play.Listen , an two-disc album whose second side features classical arrangements of songs by Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Cocteau Twins and Blonde Redhead. Check out their take on Arcade Fire's "Empty Room" below. Read More...
